Lovely rooms and a giant-sized pool, right on the beach. But best of all is the top notch staff, particularly, Pragash, Juliet and Luckshana. Second best of all is the great Sri Lankan meals. The curries are out of this world, as is the Devilled meals and the kotu roti. A tip to remember: go for the Sri Lankan breakfasts; they’re a step above.

-farm like environment with cute dogs and right on the beach
-only 2 km beach walk to That’s Why restaurant . Only 200 LKR early night or 300 LLR at night from the hotel in Tuk Tuk 
-they have a decent restaurant on site too

Service best
-they let us check in after we got settled in room
-when power went out, they brought us candles and match sticks
-they kept our liquids that we purchased in town in their fridge to keep cool
-they let us fill our water bottles 
-Hari and Dilip were the BEST employees
-Juliet in the kitchen was really nice
-they brought us an extra bed sheet to accommodate us each having a sheet
-they even separated our bill so we could each pay and they let us pay at check out 
-they answered all our questions 



Best location and service

A nice hotel with spacious & clean rooms at a fantastic location at the very quiet Nilaveli beach,
The superfriendly owner and staff are making every effort for a great stay. The restaurant is serving delicious food. The rice & curry is one of the best ones we had in Sri Lanka! At night the tables are being placed at the beachfront for a wonderful cadlelight dinners. Great ayurvedic massages are offered as well.
Definitely a place we'd reccomend!

Wonderful place on the quiet Nilaveli beach!

We stayed in the low season @ highpark and enjoyed it. Food was OK , Rooms are clean. Beach is great, but there s too much plastic in the ocean :(...

My stay at the High Park Hotel was very pleasant. In my opinion, the highlights were the large pool, the beautiful sea view, and the delicious breakfast. However, it’s worth noting that the dinner was just average. The service was excellent, though! I highly recommend this hotel.

We did not stay at the High Park Hotel, but we booked our sea trips in Trinko through them . They were recommended by our driver from Sri Lanka Personal Drivers.

Velle was our point of contact at the High Park. We booked the Dolphin watching trip on one day and the Pigeon Island snorkeling trip on the second day with him.
Velle picked us up from Oceanfront Condominium at Nilaveli beach on his boat and took us to the harbour to view the dolphins. It was an exhilarating experience , especially for the kids - the whole speed boat ride and the synchronised swimming dolphins in the ocean !
The snorkeling trip to Pigeon island was great. Velle guided us into the water and took us around so we could explore the coral reef and the beautiful fish.  We swam around sharks and turtles. Without him as our guide, we would not have known where to spot these magnificent beings! 
Velle was excellent with the kids and made sure that their safety came first.
High park hotels have us competitive price for the trips including the tickets to the National park. Velle gave us the clear breakup for the boat, ticket and guide charges. 
I would recommend connecting with them for your trips in Nilaveli if you are travelling with family and kids.


Pigeon island snorkeling and dolphin watching trip organised by High Park Hotel , Nilaveli

Nice hotel, fantastic beach front location, comfortable beds, good AC, clean. However the WiFi was nearly nonexistent. Connection in the room didn’t work, in the restaurant you get poor connection. The western food offered isn’t great, the menu choice is limited, and the waiters nearly always forget what you ordered or bring the wrong thing. But I would still stay there because it’s a heat value for the money.

Great location, poor/no WiFi 

Traveling alone and planning to SCUBA dive every day I wanted a place nearby the dive centre. Having no interest in exploring the country and no desire to find any sort of party town this accommodation fitted my requirements perfectly. The rooms are clean, and the staff most accommodating. Located directly on the beach alongside the dive centre and well out of the more populated areas the hotel provided an oasis of peace and tranquility. The food available is simple but good, the restaurant is the only place to sit and spend time unless you wish to lie on the sand on the beach. Loungers are available but neither the uncomfortable restaurant chairs or the loungers have any sort of cushioning to encourage people to spend time. If your only interest is a one or two night stop to dive this basic hotel is perfect, if you intend to roam the island find an alternative.

SCUBA TRIP

Photos shown in booking.com and other platforms are not true representation of what we found. We booked the deluxe chalet, but the room was not cleaned properly, we found two cockroaches and more just when we walked in (we know the hotel is in a natural environment, but certain things can be managed a bit better), the bathroom and appliances very worn out, very limited water flow in the shower, very dirty swimming pool (especially that, you could not see through that water at all), and quite limited breakfast in terms of amount and options in comparison to all other hotels we experienced in Sri Lanka.

Disappointing.

Do not go. Nice looking place, horrible management. People not friendly. No wifi. 

We wanted to stay 3 nights. They told us a price, after few hours the owner changed the price… Later on, he said it was his mistake and it’s ok. Next morning is again the staff asking us when we do check out, and saying they don’t have a room for us… Finally we needed to leave, do not recommend. It is sad, because it could be a good spot. Many better hotels around!
