Stayed there for 3 Nights.. The Caretaker was so good & Helpful.. we had a nice time spent in Kandy especially with our stay.. Average Good place for a simple budget.. Loved the Morning view outside..

Stay At Cloud Nine

There are just 3 rooms here n we stayed in the newly 'created' room.. it looks a little sad cuz it's just made up of board partitioning and the bathroom isn't really attached, so it isn't really comfortable compared to the other 2 proper rooms. Guesthouse is located at the top of a hill, not easy to reach by tuktuk, so it's not advisable to arrive at night like what we did. However, owner is a nice guy, speaks very good English and tries his best to help. Quite a good view in the morning, but it's a 15mins walk to the shops in the main town.

During my stay at cloud nine I never felt alone because the owner was such a humble person with a great attitude and friendly. Had an amazing view from the front room. Good place for the price. This was my second stay at cloud nine Kandy.

Solo Traveler

Our Stay at cloud 9 was really enjoyable. Host is a very friendly person who made sure that we had everything we needed and that our room was comfortable and clean. Balcony has an amazing view. We stayed for two days and would definitely choose this place again if we are visiting Kandy as its clean , has a nice view and worth the price.

Cheap Clean Place and beautiful view

We are not really five star type of travellers but we still appreciate when the place is clean (which it was not). I had a 5cm cockroach falling on my head at 5am from inside the mosquito net which was not fun.

The room is more of a hand crafted enclosure made out of chipboard type of material, stuck with cello tape with light coming from the living room through the gaps and with a window more appropriate for a bathroom rather than guest bedroom.

Mountain view and balcony which we found on the description is a bit of an overstatement.

Twin beds are very soft, far too soft for my liking, but it's really up to you.

We also appreciate the simple basics, like a towel, some soap, etc but none of that was provided. We were given towels after asking though.

On a more positive side the WiFi is decent and the owner is a nice guy. Breakfast was included but was very basic (1egg, 2 pieces of toast and black tea). Price is low compared to hotels, but after looking around we found much nicer places for the same price even a few hundred meters closer to city centre.

I'd bypass this place next time I am in Kandy.

Disappointing even considering the low price

We found this place on booking.com, but as suggested by the owner of our previous stay, we didn't book it, because they can save on the commission to booking, and pass it on to you. 
We arrived unannounced, and quite early (before 12 am), hoping that they'd still have a room available and they did. The man was very nice even though he didn't expect us and apologized that the empty room was not cleaned yet, and got to cleaning right away. 
He gave us price about 200 lkr under the booking price, 1700 lkr, the place was clean, and had a beautiful view of the city.
We stayed in a similar place in Colombo, but it was less clean and for over twice the price! This place is a great bargain!
