Very nice stay here. Welcoming host, clean rooms and nice facilities. Breakfast was excellent. Good location, although a steep winding access road, so a tuk tuk was used to get us from the main road (just part of the adventure!). Excellent views from lovely gardens.

Good spot at Haputale

Thank you Mrs Pushba for your humble and authentic hospitality. I am keeping a dear memory of my 3 days with you. 
Fellow travellers if you are after a Haputale guesthouse with character, history and undeniable charm, I would recommend a couple of days at Amarasinghe guesthouse.
I loved the understated style, comfort and brightness of the new rooms. 
The centre is a 15 min walk away uphill going trough the neighbouring houses and giving way to a grander view of the Valley.
The 5:00 am ride to Lipton seat is a must! Unforgettable memory. After reaching the top i walked down to the tea factory and took a local bus to reach the centre - tuk Tuk ride straight back to the guesthouse is also an option. Being welcomed back by Mrs Pushba gentle smile and yummy breakfast completed this memorable experience perfectly well :-)
As for the meals, solely breakfast is served at the guesthouse, though the owners run a cute little cafe called ‘Lettuce and Cabbage’ in Haputale town, right next to the train station and which terrace overlooks the city. Lovely spot, warm service and good food is provided.

Peaceful and cosy

Rooms are large and a value for money. However, standards and service needs to improve. Beds are uncomfortable and the rooms needs to be more clean. There is a very steep road to get to the guesthouse and difficult to access.

OK stay

This place has recently renovated with new additions of rooms.. We stayed here in a double room on B&B basis.. It was the higher category of rooms.. Room was new, very clean, neat & modern.. It had a large double bed with a comfy Spring mattress.. It was in 1st floor & had a small balcony.. Power outlets with support to different standards. Bathroom was clean & well equipped with hot water/ shaver power outlets / etc..

This place has a nice little dinning area & a sitting area.. Space to park about 6/7 vehicles inside the premises.. Haputale city center can be reached from hotel in about 10 minutes by walk (has a short cut).. But by a vehicle it is about 1.5 k.m. away along its motor-able road..

Breakfast was western & it was good.. Eggs (Bulls Eye) / Toasted Bread / Butter / Jam / Cordial / Tea or Coffee.. Served nicely.. We ordered some food for dinner as well.. They have a restaurant in the city & when you order some food, it will be delivered from there.. Good variation & Convenient..

The only reason I rate this review to 4 (out of 5) is the access road.. Need to drive along a narrow potted road up the hill for about 400 meters off the main the road.. for a 4 wheel drive vehicle, this is not a concern but driving a car with a low ground clearance, need to be careful..

Good Choice

We stayed in Haputale for one night in order to climb Lipton's seat. The owner was very helpful throughout our stay. The rooms we stayed in had been newly decorated and were gorgeous! We felt like we were in luxury!

The accommodation was comfortable with good sized rooms. However it was spoiled by the very unwelcomming owners who couldn't be bothered to even acknowledge you on arrival. We had had a 6 hour journey and arrived hot and tired. We were not offered a drink! I would never stay here again!!
