Hotel Amic Gala

I arrived at this hotel on a Wednesday after a 12 day stay in a Palma hospital. My flights home commenced early Friday. I was in fairly rough shape. The people in reception could not have been kinder. I was manhandling large bags and walking with a cane; they took me up to the room, brought my bags, and made sure I knew everything I needed to know about the hotel before they left. There was a lovely balcony; I do not sleep well in rooms without windows that open, and this was ideal. I do not think I have ever slept in a more comfortable bed in my life. It was pure heaven. In the morning I went downstairs to a breakfast buffet that was absolutely amazing. So many kinds of pastries (still warm), meats, cheeses, and fabulous pate, fruits, vegetables yogurt, cereals...if you can't find something on the Hotel Gala breakfast buffet that you like, you are far too picky. It is an embarrassment that American hotels offer such pathetic excuses for breakfast buffets. I had to leave for the airport at 4:30 the next morning. The reception desk called a cab for me, and again helped with my bags. This is not the fanciest hotel in the world, nor is it the biggest or most impressive, but it is charming and extremely comfortable; if I could give it ten stars, I would. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
