Alua Leo

Just arrived back home after a 4 night stay in Alua Leo. All the staff were excellent, those preparing food, and waiting on/ in the restaurant - smiling, friendly and helpful. Maria who checked us in, thank you for putting us a high floor as requested online. The cleaning staff did a great job, our room was spotless, as was the pool area and all hotel areas. Special shout out to Andreas and Ava (from the English sisters who liked playing Bingo) and the ice cream was a really nice touch. We thought the food was excellent (HB) with high quality options, and freshly cooked. The drink prices were reasonable, 3e for a glass of wine with dinner. Rooms are simple, but had all we needed - good aircon, little fridge etc.. Easy to get to A2 from the airport takes 15 mins tops. 3 min walk to beach, 2 min walk to plentiful buses to Palma (2e) Luggage storage. You could get late check out if you paid in advance (not particularly cheap, but fair - they are tying up a room that someone else cannot check into !). Didn't use the cyclist storage, but good that they have it. I think this hotel is best suited for couples, and quiet small groups (i.e. not a party hotel, not an endless kids club etc.) and I think the room you choose is probably quite important - the cheaper (non pool view) rooms at the front of the hotel (seems like the back - overlooking airport) don't have much of a view, but must be a lot quieter, the terraces ones are good for more space, but probably noisier. The only small point I would make is the use of the safe in hotel rooms should be free - they are there anyway, and it seems a bit unnecessary to make a charge for using them. Another great improvement would be to have a small amenity room (i.e shower and dressing area) and I think it would be fair to charge for use of this with a towel. Some flights go out really late and to be able to enjoy your holiday until the last moment, would be beneficial, and I think the hotel would recover the cost anyway as people would order an extra dinner / have drinks etc. There was a large group of young people staying while we were there, and whereas, yes, they had their noisy moments, they were far from troublesome, and certainly they did not impact on our enjoyment, I was in no doubt that they would have been told if they were causing issues - everybody deserves a holiday. Finally, if you do not like aircraft noise, bus noise, or the bins being emptied at 12.30am, then this hotel is not for you (nor are most in Can Pastilla) but once the doors to balcony are shut you cannot hear it.
