We stayed for 3 nights, and found this place is so nice, it even pushes you to be nice. The road to get there is a bit long, but probably this makes it so peaceful. 10 minutes to famous Potes, where you can find a gorgeus town, plenty of turist shops and quite cheap and fine restaurants.

Nice, peaceful

Up the mountain 6Km outside Potes, a secluded haven with a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. A great base to explore the magnificent scenery, food, drink and history of this understated area. The vast majority of 'tourists' we met were Spanish!
From the warm welcome to the superb buffet breakfast on the day of departure, we were well looked after by the caring, considerate staff.
The facilities were all that we needed, both in the 4-bedroom property and on site swimming pool and barbecue facilities.

High Expectations

We stayed at El Covaju with our two children having got a good discount through a Brittany Ferries package. The location is beautiful:  a wooded valley surrounded by high mountains (still with some snow in August). It's a great base for exploring the Picos de Europa, and about an hour's drive to the great beaches around Llanes. It's also close to the spectacular 'Desfiladera de la Hermida', a gorge which runs towards the coast for over ten miles.  The nearby town of Potes is pretty, with a couple of supermarkets and a lot of shops selling local trinkets and food (though wait for the street market before buying any regional delicacies). Our apartment had a beautiful view and was clean and very functional. The kitchen area was pretty small, but we were able to cook in there without too many problems.  The small shared pool was also very clean and was great for a quick dip after a walk in the hills. The staff were friendly and helpful when we asked for extra pillows (the main room just came with a single, quite thin bolster).  Overall, the whole place had a nice feel to it, the kids loved it, and we'd certainly recommend it.

Lovely location and good accommodation

We loved this 'Vivienda Rural'. El Covaju are apartments in attractively converted stone farm buildings in a picturesque location in a little valley near Potes and close to the Picos de Europa mountains. Its a lovely place with shared pool, hot tub, sauna and cosy bookable dining room serving home cooked food. There is also a shared barbecue area on a raised terrace and plenty of places to sit in the sun. 

We stayed in one of the 4 bed ground floor apartments. The apartment was split level, very clean and comfortable. Itt did not have views, but many of the others do. The people who run ut are very warm and friendly, some English is spoken and they have good tourist information at the reception desk and are able to book activities locally. Recommended
