Excellent location in the heart of the old town. Close to the main tourist attractions in Sibiu. Friendly service. The hotel does not have a car park and it is very difficult to find a place to park. A big problem. Rooms located on the top floor, without elevator, which becomes unpleasant if you have a lot of luggage. The room is large, comfortable bed, good bathroom.
Reasonable breakfast. It is not buffet.
In short, pleasant hotel, excellent location. Nothing extraordinary but pleasant

Nice location

We spent two wonderful nights at Teatro for New Year’s Eve. What can I say? Everything was just perfect 😍 The location is great, quiet, close to the center, the staff very friendly- we felt like we were part of the family ☺️.
I highly recommend Teatro and would DEFINITELY come back

Wonderful 🥰

Very unhappy with stay. The location is 10 minutes walk to sites but nothing in the immediate area.  Staff is unfriendly and breakfast does not start until 9 am.  Rooms are large but poorly designed. No outlets available in room.  There are only two in room with me for the refridge and the other for lamp.  Bed is hard and and pillows poor quality.  AC does not work well and rooms are warm.  

Poor choice

Teatro deserves a praise for bringing an early 20th century bed-and-breakfast (situated in the old centre of the town) back to life. A lot of effort has been put into refurbishing this old and decrepit property into a modern accommodation. The effort was for the most part successful. On the downside, the rooms are a bit bland and impersonal, while the bathrooms have poor quality equipment. From the old building flair, the rooms retain only the high ceilings and the windows carved into thick walls, the rest is cheap materials, seemingly sourced from DIY stores. The room and bathroom seemed adequately clean, but the shower-head and hose were leaking. 

On the service side, the hotel is amateurish at best, sometimes ridiculous. The reception works only until 10 PM, so a late check-in is impossible. Breakfast is served only starting 9 AM (irrespective of the weekday), so if you are an early riser, have small children or are in town for business, you need to look elsewhere for an early breakfast. The breakfast itself is relatively poor, with limited choice and always seemingly on the point of running out

The property operates on its premises also a fairly popular restaurant, favoured  also by locals (the restaurant is reviewed separately on Tripadvisor). Its main advantage is its large terrace, in the courtyard of the property. However if as a hotel guest you want to enjoy your breakfast outside, you are informed that you are not allowed to do so. Hotel staff are quite harsh in stating that you are only allowed to have breakfast in the small-ish breakfast room and that you are not allowed to step outside and set your plate at one of the outside tables (although the restaurant is not open for outside guests at that time). Funnily enough, you are allowed have a seat on the outside terrace to smoke, you just can't eat there. It felt a bit like Communist-era service quality.

All-in-all we left Teatro with a bad aftertaste and I will definitely avoid it in the future.

Nice property with crappy service

- Good location (close to Piata Mare, Piata Mica and all the interesting places to see in the old city center)
- very spacious room and bathroom 
- clean, good towels and bed linen 
- good water pressure for the shower 
- decent breakfast (no variety between days but it covers the basics and gives the day a good start)
- good wifi
- good lighting in the bathroom 

Only downside as far as I was concerned was the quality of the bed mattress (very hard and unforgiving with my back).

Comfortable stay

We got a room with one window facing the hallway and the other facing the terrace where people gathered to smoke. We had to keep the blinders and the windows shut at all times otherwise we were like in an aquarium where everyone could see us in the room. It gave us an unpleasant feeling that we were in a dark cave. We also had ants in the bathroom. Smell from the kitchen of the place was present in the bathroom all the time and the fan was not working. We were told from the moment of checking in that no other rooms were available so there was no solution to our problems.
The location was very nice, close to the old city centre. We also had a lovely dinner on the terrase, the pasta and the dessert we had were great.

Dissapointed experience

Lovely hotel, clean and comfy bedrooms and a gorgouse exterior.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Great food.
Perfect location, right next to old town with some great attractions.

Would highly recommend!

Miss

An old building completely renovated in a modern style. They have a big public parking in front and back of the location, rooms are big, very clean and personnel is very polite. They have a good restaurant with a great wine selection. They should improve coffee and diversify breakfast. Value for money so I recommend this location. Be careful, this location is not recommended for people who have mobility issues.
