El nido is a town with high accomodation prices when compared to the rest of the Philippines. My wife and I found a limited range of mid range options so were lucky enough to find this place for 3 nights back in April 2019. Here are a few of my thoughts.

PROS
* Cost/Value - Although the accomodation was a bit basic, the price of 45AUD (roughly 30USD) was quite good when compared to the competition
* Location - It was located in the centre of el nido town which was good for access to restaurants, bars, etc which were within walking distance. We were also able to walk to and from the port. 
* Off street - One of the big issues with accomodation in el nido town is noise from the street. This accomodation was great as it was located BEHIND the building that was adjacent to the street, down a side alley. Therefore, you didn't get street noise.
* Wifi - Worked surprisingly well.
* Service was good enough staff were friendly.
* Room - Basic and small but the bed was comfortable enough and the air conditioner worked fine

CONS
* No hot water but given the water come out hot this doesn't matter.

Overall this is a good option for budget conscious travellers.

Has everything you need and nothing you don't

Mountainside Inn is a small and very basic family run guesthouse with only 5 rooms, located perfectly central within the little town of El Nido, but a bit off the busy Main Street.Rooms are tiny and just fit a 1,40 m bed and a small bathroom. Latter has cold water only, but given the climate it’s really all you need. Aircon is noisy, but I did not need it even though it was quite hot outside. During power shortages they have a generator which is noisy as well, but my room was to the other side so it was not a problem. The place is clean and well maintained.What makes this place special are it’s incredible friendly owners, who really do care about you and will make sure you have a good time in El Nido. If you look for a basic and fair priced accommodation there I can recommend it.

Stayed here for a total of 4 nights and I was really happy with my choice. I wanted a quiet and clean place and I got precisely that, plus a very lovely Annabelle who really is lovely!

Just a couple of minutes away from the main beqch and It's restaurants and bars. The continental breakfast for 100PHP might be simple, but cheapest breakfast I've had so far in the Philippines and definitely worth the money:-)

Being ran by the owners themselves, the husband and wife tandem, expect great service and super friendly atmosphere in this accommodation. Loved how everyone has to leave their slippers/shoes on the bottom of the stairs so as to enjoy the second floor/patio/breakfast area on barefoot, since cleanliness is well-maintained there. They offer delectable meals and their wifi has both my thumbs up!

Affordable and very neat place to stay in El Nido (Town Proper.)

The accommodation it's very simple,  but it's clean.  Annabelle and her husband are very nice.  They helped us to book the tours and the van we took to Port Barton. The hotel is right in the middle of the town.  They also offered good breakfast at a decent price 😊

This was a fantastic place the family that provided the accomodation were amazing. So open and friendly the room was great, comfortable and the location top class. Would highly recommend staying here. Wonderful people and place.

Accomodation

Lovely accommodations! Runned by husband and wife who are super friendly, and daughter has the cutest dog. 
Husband was kind enough to take me on his motorbike to show me where to catch the free shuttle to Lio beach. 
One of the staff walked me to the canopy walk (1 min away).
Great location, right in town and close to the beach to catch the tours, and short walk to the strip with all the restros/bar. 
Clean place, room a bit smaller than I'm use to, and the shower was luke warm, but that's pretty much all of El Nido. The wifi connection was strong. Nice to sit out on the patio. I'm not a breakfast person but from what I've seen cheapest in town.  
Would recommend.

Great stay!

The staff is incredible! They were willing to go the extra mile for everything we requested or planned to do.  They even helped us find a place to stay as we couldn't extend, as they didn't have vacancy. Perfect for a minimalistic place to sleep. The area is walkable, with a short distance to the port for tour voyages.

Feb 18-20

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. The accommodation is more of a family run Homestay rather than a hotel. 
Cons:
Rooms are very small even for a couple with limited luggage. Bathroom is even smaller, with the shower almost on top of the toilet. In addition the toilet did not have a seat cover means the entire place is wet after use. Lighting in the room is very dim, and you wouldn't be able to draw the curtains as our room window opened onto the main staircase, which was not ideal.
It's a budget friendly place if you just planning to sleep when you get to the room. But as you most probably will be Island hopping during the day, chances are you will need to dry your clothes in the small room making it very musty with no ventilation.
Pros:
The property on the whole including the room is clean and well kept. The staff are friendly helpful and polite. They help organise tours and even replenish any towels or toilet tissues you may need. Coffee available to make at any time as well as hot and cold drinking water.
Loved the little breakfast area in the morning. As the hotel is about 50m from the main road, it's quieter and nice to have a coffee in the morning hours. Internet was quite good as well and we had no issues with it. Fan and Aircon in room. Location if the hotel is about 4 mins walk to the beach and island hopping tours, and several eating options along the way. 
This is a budget friendly homestay and it's important for guests to make that distinction before booking. Overall a pleasant stay.
