Enjoy our stay for 4 days & 3 nights. Very quiet area & a little bit too far from the center the resort provide a service going to the town. Accommodating staff . Basic resort if your not after luxury.  Enjoy having our breakfast with a Very nice view fronting the beach .

Quiet & nice beach front  view

I would recommend Kalinga Beach Resort for those comfortable with a mid-range, family-run like small hotel. The location on the beach provided amazing views (from my room as well), the pool was nice, and the common area had a quirky design aesthetic. The staff was very nice and friendly, and they were super helpful with all my requests. Breakfast was simple but delicious, and they provided free transportation into town (via a tuk-tuk). Wifi is available but dreadfully slow. I personally thought the rooms were ok, bare furnishings and not super nice but not bad either - they were clean enough. It would have been nice to have more linens/blankets/towels though. The price-point was a little high for what you get, compared to other locations in the Philippines but El Nido has limited mid-range options near the water or on Calaan Beach. Overall I would stay here again - especially if I could get the same unit I had overlooking the ocean.

5 Night Stay on the Beach

CONS:
1. Their quadruple room needs renovation as to the floorboards are always creaking when someone is walking. Their other guests have no regards to other guests taking rest on the other rooms. (The management needs to have some rules on curfew and taking down noises since the hotel should be peaceful for guests to have a rest.)

2. The beachfront is nothing out of the ordinary, my husband, my daughter and I take a walk to the beachfront to look for places to eat and we ended up walking to a cemetery near the other hotels. Yee.. Creepy right?

3. The free breakfast that they offer were limited to tapsilog, tocilog, bangsilog and pancakes. Coffee and milo for drinks. They don't offer lunch or dinner. 

PROS:
1. They have a service trike which you can call (in the town of El nido). We just texted ate evelyn so that she can arrange the service to the hotel when we got back to our tour.

2. Ate Evelyn and other personnel needs to be more entertaining and enthusiastic although they can speak well for their guests. We are taken cared of during our stay. 

Plain type of hotel

This place needs a restaurant, because it has a great view and yet you can't get anything to eat, except for breakfast. There are only a few restaurants nearby and they are very expensive. The walk into town takes about 20 minutes and part of the path is very dark and narrow, so it's not something you want to be doing in the evening or in the heat.  They offer a free tricycle service to try and overcome this problem. The family rooms by the pool are basic but decent. The upstairs villa is in an attic shape room and needs a bit more investment - the aircon doesn't work too well and we needed the shower and toilet fixed while we were there (which to their credit, the management fixed promptly).  The main positive of this place is the superb view of the bay and islands plus the small pool. The three main negatives of this place is the distance from town, lack of restaurant (if somebody opened a good restaurant in this neighborhood and reasonably priced, it would draw in all the tourists from the neighborhood) and lack of hospitality from the management - they weren't unfriendly, but we didn't feel particularly welcome. They seemed indifferent to their guests and you couldn't help feeling they'd prefer you weren't there, except for the money (and I'd say this place is heavily overpriced, but so is all of El Nido).

Nice view, nice small pool, basic rooms, bit out of town, no restaurant, lacks hospitality

I got a mixed feelings about this one. The resort is small and nice and got that family-friendly feeling. It’s just by the sea so the view is great. Swimming pool, good breakfast on top. Staff very nice, acommodating and helpful. What we didn’t like was the price - when we booked it was £54 per night and for Philippines that is loads of money. For the room standard the price was not reasonable. It was extremely basic, not really clean, bed wasn’t comfortable with super thin mattress and there was the most mosquitos and ants in the whole Philippines. On the other hand one of few places with hot water. That being said I’m still not sure whether we liked it or not. I would say, for price around £20 per night it would be great. Also there are many dogs and now puppies around - which was great for us as we love animals, so I recommend for people to be kind and give them some food. Those babies got nobody to care for them.

2 night stay

Premise: to get there you have to walk along a beach (apparently the tuk do not get there), take a piece of road busy with mopeds and finally take a piece of your choice: either near the unkempt cemetery or on a beach (between the sea and the cemetery ..). The structure is old, the rooms are very poorly maintained, the swimming pool is not usable (full of mud and water never cleaned or changed in the 5 days I was there). Embarrassing breakfast. The worst thing is the owners, who are not at all nice or accommodating. Perhaps because it is the owners and not the workers who get paid. In other structures at least we received a smile, nothing here. The linen on the second day hadn't been changed yet and we had to insistently ask several times. We also changed the room once !! The first was made of straw, with broken mosquito nets, the bathroom with other people's hair and dirt, a pre-war fan impossible to use! Smell of burning from 4am that smoked the room! They moved us to an air-conditioned room which might be fine if you overlooked the musty smell and dirt! The whole family of the owners lives in the resort in huts. All nasty looking at you as if you are bothering them !!! Children screaming, dogs barking at any time. In short, everything but not a resort, not even a hotel, perhaps some old and stale rooms. They should pay people to stay there !!! We asked for a refund of the last night because we were exhausted from staying there and they started questioning! The only positive note? The view. But that is in many other hotels! What a bad experience!

What a mess!

I have booked Kalinga beach resort through booking.com for 4 nights(22nd Dec to 25th dec).
Issues:
When we reached there around 8 p.m on 22nd Dec, the receptionist said they have issues reaching booking.com so we have no room.
I have PAID for 4 nights and the money is taken from my credit card 10 days before
The receptionist called the owner and then they offered a non-air condition room for the first-night stay(Later they refunded 2000 pesos)
The entire resort is filled with dogs, they bark all through the night, you cannot have a peaceful sleep
Dogs will greet you when you have your breakfast, they are waiting near your legs for their share of food
Ants on the bed. Enough Said.
No toiletries.
Air-conditioner does not have a remote
The resort is very far from the town, you cannot reach there in a tricycle if there is a high tide
No trashbin inside the room, you can find one inside the bathroom

Dogs can greet you during your breakfast, terrible experience with this resort

This place is not worth the money, you can get nicer on the island with a view just as good. 
The rooms were dirty and the whole place is very old. The first room we had stunk so badly of mould. We were moved into another room and this was just two beds pushed together. 
We barely slept while there due to the amount of dogs barking all night long. The staff never tell the dogs to be quiet and it goes all night. 
We ended up going elsewhere after two nights and just losing out on the money as the place was so unclean. Wouldn’t bother.
