As other reviews describe the hotel is next to a bar/restaurant where the staff seem to cover both. It wouldn't make sense to have a 24/7 reception there as there are only a handful of rooms but is a bit strange when you turn up and here is no-one around, same with checking out.

The rooms are very nice and have a really retro feel to them. Should think they are pretty cosy in the winter. 

The only thing I would watch out for is the price of meals that they add on (without telling you the cost). It is a very nice restaurant but the standard breakfast fee is 12.5 Euros,quite steep considering the cost of the rooms but I assume this is how they make their money.

Good Price, Interesting Set-Up

Just 6 rooms, a friendly staff and nice restaurant.
Rooms are spacious and with good accommodations (separate toilets, bathroom. Good beds).
Staff is helpful and will do its best to accommodate your needs.
Very close to Hengelo.

You have to check in through the restaurant when you arrive.

Quaint and friendly

we visited this restaurant and where suprised by the big choice of food.
special attention to the Angus meat selection.
The kitchen is fully aware of dieet needs.
we choose The white and red wine of Stellenbos The Big Five. the wine was fine
and reasonable priced
The menu we choosed was of a fine quality
and served by well informed and pleasant staff. all of us enjoyed this restaurant very much.

value for money in a nice atmosphere

We tried to leave our suitcases at 13.00, one hour before check in time.
There seemed to be no one to attend us. While it was raining heavily we tried to find an open entrance and finnaly found someone in the kitchen who told us , kind of unfriendly, that there was no one... and that she had no idea when "they" would be and that " they" where in the shower.
We went, cold and wet, to a nearby hotel where they were awake, showered and receiced us with hospitality.
Is 13.00 such a strange time for a hotel to attend guests?
