Om Apartments

I stayed here for 3 weeks while freelancing for a INGO in the area - many INGOs and NGOs operate out of Lalitpur. The location at the corner of Patan Durbar Square could not be better, endless culture and atmosphere, easy access to a range of food options including the excellent Swotha Cafe, an extensively easy place to direct a taxi to from anywhere in the KTM valley, and of course also conveniently located for the work I was there to do. The solar shower was excellently hot, the small apartment I was in (1 large room) was comfortable, modern, and also exceptionally clean. The wifi was strong however did require some troubleshooting - frankly as it does nearly everywhere in Kathmandu - and any connectivity issue was also promptly addressed. A separate entrance allowed me to come and go independently of the shop - although the shop was beautiful and I often swung through for one thing or another. The water cooler was a great perk and there was a small kitchenette I could have used but elected not to. More than anything else, the communication, warmth and overall professionalism of the owners and affiliates persons who I interacted with sets Om Apartments above and apart. There was never a doubt that anything I needed was an absolute priority and every question asked was answered and more. I would definitely stay here again, and would recommend Om Apartments to all. Lastly, as part of a Fair Trade collective, Om Handicrafts specializes in these beautiful hand-wrought meditation bowls. I did an hour of sound physiotherapy with Abhi, also an experience I highly recommend to all.
