We stayed 1 night at the riad and 1 night in the desert with Chez Tonton. It was amazing, 10/10. The communication before arriving was very good, quick responses and clear. The bedroom that we stayed in was very comfortable, and the breakfast was very plentiful and tasty (one of the best that we have had in Morocco). We then went out to the desert with our guide Hassan, who despite the language barrier was excellent. Very friendly and we felt 100% at all times. He made a very tasty lunch and dinner for us. Best of all is that it was just us (2 people) so no big convoys of camels, and the it felt very personal. The camp was well placed and quiet. You can stars so clearly, and the sunrise is something that we will never forget. The trip back and breakfast back at the riad was all very good. Added bonus is that we were able to park our car securely behind a tall gate. All in all would highly recommend and Hmad (the riad host) and his colleagues were fantastic. 

Worthwhile traveling half-way around the world to discover this accommodation. In addition, the small details that made the experience unforgettable such as : the overnight in the desert (the tents are at the foot of one of the tallest sand dunes, which makes the views exceptional, and we miss Jimi Hendrix, the dromedary), the ride in the desert with Hmad, the owner, to the ghost mining town, the rain in the desert, etc.

First, if you are thinking about going to Morocco, don't think a lot, just go!! The country, the people, the culture and hotel chez tonton with the owner Ahmed  exceeded my expectations!My husband and I have been travelling together for the last 10years or so, neither of us had a good idea about a good hotel  so we decided to try a good motel chez tonton  really stood out to us, for the quick responses to our emails, including everything we wanted to see and more, very detailed itinerary, websites of the lodging and the price of the tour in the bivouac . Ahmed the manager, was very quick to answer all of our emails, questions and concerns. We found that they were cheaper than the bigger other hotels and we liked the idea of the bivouac  being about what we wanted to see and do, rather than a great cooking of his beautiful wife Khadija, wonderful Tajin with fresh meat and vegetables, also all kinds of fruits at desert ,and fabulous Couscous, I would take a chance to say thank you Ahmed and Khadija for the coolest thing and memories that you both gave to us!!
  
Every thing was fantastic We spent almost 2weeks with him, so I feel like I left the tour having a new friend, so we were very comfortable in our clean rooms. During our dinner Ahmad was great at explaining Moroccan culture, what its like to be a nomad, the difference between Berber and Arabic people and telling us all about the history of different sites and villages that we pass. There was the day families get together to celebrate Aid Ladha! We also listened to each others music, which I really enjoyed. I felt like I learned so much from him and his country. It was a very eye opening experience, Morocco completely exceeded my expectations, and I don't think we would have been able to have such an experience as we had done without you Ahmed

If you have the time, to spend in Morocco please do more than a week !There is so much to see and its all amazing and please do it with Ahmed in his motel Chez tonton .

After some unpleasant experiences in morocco, this was the perfect place to rest and experience true moroccan hospitality. It's real good people running that hotel! 
I also did the camel tour into the desert, arranged by the staff, and it was all worth it.

We didn't stay in the Riad but booked a tour in the desert and we were taken by Mohamed to Ibrahim's tents for pizza. Very kind person and speaking very well both English n french. Recommended 100% for a desert ride and local hospitality.
