I cannot possibly recommend Résidence Louzani. Unlike most short-term apartment rentals, where privacy and weekly cleaning is the norm, Louzani’s nosy manager lives in the building and monitors tenants closely – he watches every move. It’s creepy! He DEMANDS ENTRY for cleaning, whether you want it or not. Before I had been in the apartment for a full day, cleaners knocked on my door – no “do not disturb” sign. When I declined – needing privacy to recover from a difficult trip - the owner entered my apartment - uninvited - and yelled and screamed at me about keeping his apartments CLEAN. It was
frightening! I asked for a refund and offered to vacate – a refund was refused. I was told to “get out” and insulted by an insinuation that I intended to do something improper in the apartment! A mature, responsible woman, this disrespectful treatment was offensive. I had reoccurring trouble unlocking the front door – the key didn’t work. It was terrifying feeling locked out. The apartment is freezing early morning and late night, with zero heat and cold marble floors. A space heater arrived a few days before my departure. Electrical outlets are inconveniently laced, the bathroom is dark and tiny, the makeshift kitchen is awkward, cooking smells permeate the building, and cable TV is a joke. The view was of other buildings – not the beach. I booked based on good reviews, which baffle me now? It’s time for the truth. This apartment is overpriced. Staying at Résidence Louzani felt like being in prison! The experience makes me hesitant to ever pay in advance or believe reviews. I was there for 30 miserable days.

Uncomfortable, Disappointing, Degrading Experience

The residence is very nice and the apartment big, with all commodities. 
It is located three minutes walk to the Essaouira beach and ten to the Medina. It is a perfect choice to relax, chill and enjoy of this beautiful city. 
The residence has also a wonderful rooftop where you can see the sunset.

Amazing room!

Exactly what we were looking for: quiet and next to the beach. The building has a nice rooftop with cactus, plants and long chairs. The place was super clean and they change towels everyday. We certainly recommend this place.

Great view !

We stayed for one night to check out Essaouira at this apartment location. We were not disappointed, a nice clean place with all the amenities though lacking a lift).
The rooms are serviced and cleaned well and it is minutes away from the main beach with the corniche/promenade area. 
A walk to the medina and the ramparts took 15-20 minutes.There are local shops eateries next to the residence
The reception staff were kind, polite and friendly. I would thoroughly recommend a stay in these apartments.

Great apartments at a budget price in a convenient location

Very close to the beach and a short stroll from the centre. 

Apartment was clean and spacious. All amenities were there. 

Ideal if you go kite surfing in Essaouira.
Some decent shops / restaurants around the corner as well

Nice apartment

Positives - great location close to the beach and medina. Spacious and comfortable apartment. Wonderful rooftop with views and sunbeds. Very good price!

Negatives - staff seemed to be a bit incompetent. No services at all (it's just an apartment block). Bathroom was not in good condition.

Be careful, they don't accept credit cards even though they claim the opposite online.

Spacious apartments close to the beach

Fantastic place. All very clean. Very comfortable beds. Next to the beach and not very far from Medina. Owner is very helpful. Terrace has nice direct view of the beach.They clean the rooms and change towels every day.

Great place for kitesurfing

Looking for a nice place to spend the last days of our holiday by the seaside we found this great apartment hotel and it was an excellent choice! Travelling by rental car a big plus compared to a guesthouse inside the Medina was the parking right in front of the house - and as mentioned in other reviews, our car also got cleaned. What a nice service! But of course parking is not everything: it is also really well located in the middle of the large beach, just cross the beachside road and you are there. Surfing schools nearby or within 10 minutes of walking. In the evening we enjoyed a walk by the beach into the old town (medina) which took no more than 15 minutes. Small shops close-by for breakfast, snacks and drinks; good restaurants were also not far away. But maybe the greatest thing about this place is the amazing shared roof terrace with beautiful sunset views! In your back you can hang your beachwear to dry while enjoying an amazing view to the front. The apartment itself (we had a small on the first floor for 2 adults and a child) is spacious and well furnished. We found all we needed in the kitchen and the friendly host Zacharia even helped us out with some sugar/salt. The top priority of the house seemed to be cleanliness, the apartment was thoroughly cleaned every day including our breakfast plates we had not had time to take care of... Would stay again any time if we manage to return to Essouira!

Ideal place to enjoy both beach & city in Essouira

Rooms, kitchen and beds were great, as expected, and as seen on the pics. Did research, read the reviews, no surprise there, I knew it is going to be excellent. What was indeed a very positive experience above it all, the staff and owner's friendly and professional attitude. Our greeting, help with the luggages (no elevator), with parking, they reserved a spot for us on the street knowing that we arrive by car, furthermore, we had our car washed by next morning. It was extremely dirty, wanted to wash it anyways before returning our rental, so they did us a huge favour, saving us time running aroung for a carwash. The did so without asking, and without knowing we would tip them or not. For this gesture, two thumbs up for Hotel Louzani!!!

Better than the best with excellent staff

My friend and I made our last stop in Essouira to conclude our 3 week birthday vacation. We were pleasantly surprised by how welcoming our host Zachariah was(my apologies if I spelled that wrong). The residence was beautiful and walking distance from everything..ie the beach, Medina,  restaurants, bus depots etc. The terrace of the hotel had the most amazing view. I definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting essouira, as well I would stay here again.
