Been trying to book a room at Akan resort in los Ayala Mexico, seems like a nice place, BUT they will NOT book you in unless you book for 30 days or more at a time. We would love to try it for 2 weeks just to see if we liked it or not, but I don't think that will happen.... Good luck.

1 Month at a time

Spent one night at this lovely hotel. The staff was gracious and hospitable. The pool was freezing, not for the faint of heart. Great location at the far end of the beach near Recon de Guayabitos. Nice and quiet.

Lovely resort

My wife and I stayed here for a month, and the Akan is simply the best. Great staff and rooms with a heated pool, loungers on the wonderful beach, and great architecture. Only a short walk to town or a short taxi ride over the hill to Rincón de Guaybitos. A great favourite with Canadians, this small hotel has beach view balconies in every room and well equipped kitchens. Can’t really say enough.
We were so impressed that we have booked a month here next fall, and can’t wait to return.

The very best

But Shhhhh — it’s supposed to remain a secret so there is space to come back as all the rooms are quickly booked for long term rentals at least a year in advance!

The staff are friendly and accommodating, the location is in beside the bustle on the beach but also far enough away and it’s only a block to town for groceries or food stalls or restaurants - whatever suits your fancy. 

Be sure to book in advance and prepare to relax and have an awesome time. 

Best place in the beach 

Good Hotel, no restaurant, needs a bit of maintenance but over all good experience, very little cell signal. Only in certain areas. Very poor internet service, good wi fi but no internet, so disconecting from the world is very real!

Good for disconecting

This is the best hotel in Los Ayala. Great beach, great staff, great location.  Should you choose to stay in this very small town, this is the place to do it. New property with beautiful modern rooms, AC and all the amenities.
