Hotel Hacienda Tetakawi

This is our 4th trip to San Carlos in the past 6 months and rather than "rent" an apartment for 2 weeks, we found this gem at a more than reasonable cost. The grounds are well kept and the pool was nice and refreshing. The on-property restaurant has a good selection of food as well as drinks. And if you wanted something else, you can go across the street to another restaurant, or next door if you want Italian. One can get around quite well speaking English as the staff is pretty fluent as well. Our "apartment" was like a studio with a kitchen (stove, frig, coffee maker), bedroom (king?) and a 3/4 bathroom. Our only issue was that the location of the "apartment" led a number of guests and/or the public to attempt to use our private patio that's outside the front door. When that happened, we politely informed those folks that this is our patio and not for public use...and then informed the hotel general manager (maybe the owner?) as per his request. He was very caring and asked that if there was ANYTHING we were not pleased with, to talk to him directly. Now THAT'S customer service. Speaking of location, be aware that the "apartment" is next to the main road and openly visible to the public. Unfortunately, I had a pair of swim trunks stolen off our patio over night as I was letting the dry. But other than that one incident, we felt very safe...just be sure to shut the blinds or you'll be showing yourself to the world, haha! We will be contacting them for another stay in a few weeks.
