Booked this place through "Booking.com" for 4 nights before our apartment in Playa del Carmen was available.
First off, taxi drivers do not know where this hotel is, our driver took us to "Suites Gaby" we had to drag our bags through the nearby market to get to Garden Suites.
No reception, a cleaner answered the front door then a manager/owner came to meet us.
We were led to room 9 on the 2nd floor.
It consisted of a kitchenette with a fridge, sink & stove. The fridge doors were open and it was not operating. There was also a table and chairs.
There was a queen size bed in the next room with and old TV on a table,
Off to 1 side was a bathroom where you couldn't sit on the toilet unless you opened the shower door.
The whole place looked old and not maintained.
After 1 night we complained about the room. The manager immediately showed us room 4 as an alternative. This was a 2 bedroom unit with a total of 4 beds, a working fridge and hot water.
We moved there for the other 3 nights, but didn't have a toilet seat.
This hotel is very centrally located right next to Mercado 28. Buses and taxis are plentiful. There are plenty of inexpensive place to eat. There is and "OXXO" convenience store next door to the hotel.
If you want a cheap hotel for a night, centrally located with no frills, then this is it.

Stay here if you have no alternatives

You do get what you pay for.
Hard to find. No one in office to check us in, no hot water, but clean and friendly and convenient and cheap and a mini fridge and AC and plenty of taxis and near shops and restraints and bus station

One night needed before departure

This was the only place we could find when our other accommodation fell through at last minute. Overall you get what you pay for, this place was very affordable. The rooms are dated but clean and secure. There was a strong cleaning smell in the apartment. We stayed here for 4 nights. The first night we had no hotwater. The second the toilet blocked up. The shower would block up every time we showered. Air cons were very loud when running. On the last morning woke up to a very strong gas smell in the apartment. With all of these issues though I can say the staff were quick to fix or try to fix the problems. Property has free wifi and there's a market across the road with plenty of food options, souvenirs, tour bookings. It's an approx 15min walk to Walmart, there's an oxxo (like 7eleven) and atm right next door, a lovely restaurant a few buildings down as well as an awesome lavendaria down the road. Taxis constantly driving on the street outside so can easily hail one if needed. Overall this place needs to be maintained better but is a affordable option and as we were out most of the time it was bearable.
