La Gondola Guesthouse

I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights,as it was very central, easily located near the old That Dam temple-monument. It is about 10 minutes walk from the bus station. From the bus station turn right towards the main road,Avenue Lane Xano - you will see the huge Patuxay ( Arch de Triomphe); at the top of the road,with the Presidential Palace at the opposite end of this road. As you cross the road, you will see the ANZ Bank on the opposite side of the road,turn left and then first right and you will see the Monument in front of you. The La Gondola is down the cul de sac road, above the restaurant.It is therefore, easily placed for many cafes,bars and tourist attractions, including the Night Market and the Mekong River. As you may have seen from other reviews, there is a Fruit Shake shop for refreshing real fruit chilled drinks yards from the hotel on the main road. Marco is the Italian owner of the property is friendly and welcoming.The rooms were quite large, with a three quarter size comfy bed, and en-suite bathroom. There is air con/fan, a fridge and a kettle, and 2 small bottles of water supplied each day. A small breakfast was supplied, but there are many small cafes yards away. Maybe the only problems were the wifi, which was difficult to access at times,and the old TV set - which I didnt use much.There are outside tables, for el frescoor a cigarette. Overall, a nice place to stay
