We ended up eating here by chance. We had pumpkin burger with fries (15k) and egg salad (15k).
Good size portions and wide range of food. Free water refill if u eat here!
Don't expect fancy cousine or place, the excellent vote is due to the very good value for money!
Ps: also a wide range of happy shakes, food and pancakes if this is what you are looking for,and very chea too 

Very good value for money

If you are looking for cheap and absolutely delicious food, this restaurant will be your choice. They have a lot of different dishes and the family that runs the restaurant is extremely welcoming. We had dinner here every night.

Cheapest and best place for food 

We booked 2 nights upon arrival on the island, and we have now been here for 8!!
The bungalows are not over-water but they are very spacious and super clean! 
The place has a restaurant which offers the cheapest food on the island and the food is sbsolutely delicious and ready in a matter of minutes. 
The owner and staff (her family perhaps?) Are all incredibly welcoming, even though at first the owner may seem a little abrupt. This is only a first impression though! She is in fact very lovely!! 
We paid 40000 kip per night for a double, in November. Worth a whole lot more in our opinion! 
There is everything you may need in a radius of 10 meters (bike rent, pharmacy, convenience stores etc) and the main strip with most of the bars and restaurants is 100 meters away. 
Definitely a place to consider when visiting the island! 

Look no further! 

Very very nice staff! They are looking for you to feel very well at their place. They are always welcoming you with a large smile. They are giving people.

Although these is no wifi in the rooms, I really recommend it: it was so cheap for the service we received. We stay there more than forseen and I could really feel like if I were home.

Have eaten lunch here several times over the 2 visits to Don Det.

A good range of eats at as cheap a price as anywhere.

Cold fruit shakes for 7000kip, omlette with cheese and a baguette for 15000kip and a very tidy plate of salad greens for 10000 kip are some  of the many dishes.

Getting a cold Beerlao can be hit and miss depending on stock numbers and how many crew are drinking.

All in all its a good option to relax and chat with others.
