Green Star

I stayed five nights at the Green Star and absolutely loved every minute that I was there. The lovely japanese couple (and their little Schnauzer Gigi) made me feel most welcome with their hospitality and humor. The husband, who is a music aficionado, is especially proud of the fact that he has hosted some of the biggest stars who have visited the Fuji Rock festival in recent years as evidenced by the large autographed posted of the Red Hot Chili Peppers on his living room wall. The decor of the place is worth checking out by itself. A tastefully decorated cabin that balances rustic with rock n roll seamlessly. Practicalities: - They do not provide shuttle service so you have to make your own way over using local buses from Echigoyuzawa train station - Location is great - only a few hundred metres from Naeba ski slopes. You can purchase lift tickets at Green Star. (They also have discounted onsen tickets and other goodies) - The rooms are clean and a good practical size - Bathrooms are shared but are clean and nicely decorated - Shower has nice hot water -The common area / living room is large and provides plenty of space to lounge around if you are taking some time off from the slopes - WIFI works everywhere - The husband has a great music selection that plays throughout the day on the stereo - Breakfast is nothing exciting but at least it is home cooked. When Naeba closed down for a couple of days due to bad weather the wife was very helpful in helping us plan and organize a day trip out to a nearby ski resort that was open. For anyone looking for B&B/Pension type of accommodation, you really must give these guys a look! I would not hesitate to recommend this place to any of my friends or family.
