1. Location: Within walking distance from the train station. Convenience stores around, within easy reach. Takaoka sights can be walked to from the hotel. 2. Rooms: Small (as is the whole building), but this is Japan and I went for cheap. Oldish furnishings and beddings but clean and comfortable. Wifi works well. 3. Staff: The front desk was supposed to be manned during daylight hours. But when I arrived at 11:00, there was no one around. Left my luggage at a corner with a note and went ahead with my tour of the city. When I came back, there was a staff, who did not have an issue with the luggages left there, and was welcoming. We then checked-in with no issues.
