APA Hotel & Resort Ryogoku Eki Tower

This was the best hotel I stayed in during my tour of Japan. Excellent location, minutes from the train and metro stations. Quiet location but you can walk to Asakusa in around 30-45 mins or a short train ride. Asakusa , was my favourite location in Tokyo. I loved the self check in, quick and efficient without the queuing. The hotel has a luxurious 5 star feel as you walk in. A supermarket located in the basement, as well as a small gym, laundry room, ice machine, microwave, and well as vending machines. The compact room on the fifth floor was tiny but I found it cosy, well designed with efficient use of space. It was perfecly fine for one person but maybe challenging for two. The room had all the tech you would need. Sockets and switches by the bed, a shelf overhead. Large 55" TV with free on demand, messages from reception, info on the hotel and how busy the Onsen is. A fridge, water provided , robes, slippers and all toiltries. They really have thought of everything! The bed was super comfortable, I heard no noise whatsoever in the 7 nights I stayed. I have never slept so well. The room is cleaned every third day, but they leave a bag of fresh towels and toiltries each day. The highlight was the Onsen. It was like visiting an expensive spa. Very relaxing. Everything was provided and I never found it that busy during the evening. I didn't end up using my bathroom in the end. The complaint of the lifts didn't really cause me any inconvienence. I left early in the morning and returned late at night and never had to wait. As long as you avoid busy times it will be fine. I also enjoyed the free tins of beers in the reception after a busy day exploring. One day, was free curry. The Japanese do hospitality at it's best. You will not be disappointed. I was sad to leave!
