Ryokan Morishige

We stayed here with a group of 37 young people. Most of them were in Japan for the very first time. All the rooms are Japanese style with tatami mats. The bath is a big common bath in Japanese style as well. The breakfast is very Japanese with a piece of fish, rice, miso soup, furikake, pickled daikon and other stuff. We loved it. It was in no way luxurious, and the house was a bit old. But that was perfect for our needs, since we were in Japan to explore Japanese culture and the way of life. The hosts are very friendly and helpful in every way. There was no English homepage, and I spoke in Japanese with them, but there were no problems for my students to communicate with them at all. It is a bit far from the city center, but that in itself was also an experience for the members of our group. I would definitely book this place again, next time I'm in Sendai. Also if I was just travelling with family or friends.
