Excellent room- traditional authentic Japanese decors. Option of western bed or bedding in the floor, Beautiful tatami mats. All rooms faced the river.  
We enjoyed the onsens, the use of Yakuta, all very relaxing. We had banquet style dinner of 10 courses. Beer flowed freely in the lounge from 5 pm to 6 pm . Desert was served In the lounge after dinner . 
The Japanese breakfast was traditional and supplemented by western foods such as fruit and yoghurt.

Truly an authentic ryokan experience

Standard small room and bath amenities one would expect of a Japanese hotel.  slightly dated hotel. The meal package price included both dinner and breakfast. We opted for Japanese dinner meal that was nice.  On-site onsen is a bit dated. Free parking in front of hotel. A short walk down the steep slope to the bridge that leads to the “centre” of town. 5 mins walk to a convenience store.

For about 13000yen a night, the room was big. Interior was quite old and unkept. The walls are paper thin, you can hear people walking in their room and the corridors. There was hair on and under my bed sheets, not sure if it was changed. Not only that but the bed was very uncomfortable. The only perk is the parking is free. Not sure what else to comment on this hotel as it is below average.

Many issues with the accommodations detracted from our stay: tiny baths, no wi-fi / ethernet in the room, unaddressed stains on the curtains, holes in the tatami mats, etc. The property could really use a refresh, especially given the relatively high price point.

However, as is always in Japan the staff are absolutely incredible with their friendliness and helpfulness. Will still give the property 3 stars for the staff.

Great staff but rooms need a refresh

We stayed here for one night for a visit to the Jozankei. There's a free shuttle service (about 1 hour ride) to and from the Sapporo station. Make sure to make arrangements prior to your stay.

The staffs are friendly, polite and efficient. The tatami room is small but acceptable. The futons are already set up when we checked in at 4pm. The bath is small, with an indoor and outdoor bath area. Not much of a view. 

The dinner was yummy. They serve hokkaido milk ice cream at the lobby, which was delicious (except that the manager's ice cream serving skill wasn't that good lol). 

Small but comfortable. 

The front desk staff was most efficient. We stayed in the tatami room on the higher floor with a view of the river and enjoyed a Kaiseki dining experience. The onsen experience was equally enjoyable. It was a weekday, no crowd and we had the place to ourselves.
Our stay included breakfast and dinner meals, and complimentary shuttle service from JR Sapporo Station that has to be booked in advance.

A Relaxing Winter Experience

Good value stay, nice and cozy atmosphere. Staffs are friendly, not every in English but helpful. Nice looking food and delicious. Quiet surroundings, soothing hot spring, excellent after skiing. 
Room is clean and comfortable. Bathroom very small but onsan is the place we go.
