Oze Tokura Marui Ryokan

We were pleasantly surprised by this place! We arrived to a less-than-enthusiastic greeting from the grumpy innkeeper. He showed us our room, which turned out to be spacious, clean, and comfortable. The room was Japanese-style - tatami mat floors, futon beds, and we were happy to see that the room included a sink and toilet (though the baths are shared). What really made our experience was the AMAZING dinner!! There was soo much delicious food - Tempura, fish, tofu, pickles, miso soup, potato gratin, and rice. It was all very tasty. Also, the innkeeper's wife turned out to be a gem. She was very friendly and helped us find the bus stop to Oze (though she didn't speak much English). I would recommend this place to people that are looking for a Japanese experience!
