Who wouldn't want to wake up to a spectacular view of the Tuscan hills everyday? If I could wake to this everyday after a peaceful slumber under the olive trees, I would jump on a plane back to Italy and head on straight to Fonte del Salcio in Cinigiano.

We stayed there last May and it is one of our unforgettable stops. The place is simply lovely as it offers a glimse of the Tuscan life. We stayed in one of the four houses, which has more than enough rooms and beds for our family of five (my husband, our two kids, my mother-in-law, and I). The house is clean, well maintained and has a well-equipped kitchen where you can easily whip out a Tuscan meal for the family. We enjoyed our breakfast on the covered terrace which gives us a grand view of the hills. You can also have a barbecue in the garden area.The kids had a great time exploring the farm which has olive trees, lavender, rosemary, pines, and lots of flowering plants.

What makes it even special is the kindness and hospitality of the owners. They went out of their way to help me when I had a medical problem. Just goes to show that it's not all business for them but making people feel welcome and cared for.

Relaxing and enjoyable stay

After searching for a long time on the internet  for a lovely and afordable place to stay in Tuscany we found this place.  And what a lovely place it is.  A small farm with 4 small houses amongst the olive trees.  We stayed in one of them which has two bed rooms and a large open space living room overlooking the Tuscan hills with an open fire place.  The house had a front covered terrace and a seating area in the back garden with a barbecue.  For summer time, each room has air conditioning and the farm uses solar power; there is also a swimming pool.  The owners are very friendly and kind.  The very welcoming village of Cinigiano is a short 1 km walk away.  I would definately recommend and in fact we are coming back in September 2011.
