Hotel Stampfer

We loved this hotel set in a charming little town just outside of Bolzano! The host was very friendly to us even though we spoke no German and only know a tiny bit of Italian. One really excellent perk to staying here is that they provided each of us with a Sudtirol Alto Adige guest pass (Bolzano/Bozen) card. This card gave us FREE bus, train, museum, and funicular (cable car) access which resulted in huge savings! The hotel has a lovely pool and garden area and a full breakfast. (Pastries, breads, cheeses, meats, cereals, fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, eggs made to order, coffee, tea, juices, milk.) They will even ask if you would like them to cook a fresh plate of eggs for you. The room was clean and comfortable with a little balcony overlooking the garden. They do have parking if you need it, but we arrived by train and only used public transportation. It is located very close to the train station (3 min walk) but in a quiet location. We will definitely stay here again!
