This is a truly amazing place. Tastefully designed bungalow set amongst a beautiful coconut orchard.  The scenery and the ambience is incredible and this is a perfect place to get away and unwind. The staff is courteous and even though they don't speak a whole lot of English, we didn't find it an issue to communicate with them. The cook whips out some delicious finger licking local delicacies and accommodates your every request with a smile. 
This place is located near a village and far from the any civic amenities. There are going to be a few mosquitoes in the evenings but that is normal for any place that is located near a farm. If you expect city like comforts and amenities, then this place is not for you. If you are looking for a peaceful and serene  place to get away for a short holiday then this is a perfect getaway located about 3.5 hours from Bangalore.  
The toilets were the best part of this homestay.  Huge,  spacious with lots of natural light. No problem with the flushes or the running water as some of the others have reported. 
Tip : If you are are into mountain biking or trail running then there some excellent trails around.

A Quiet and relaxing getaway

Nice place to stay for one or two days. The hospitality is good and the workers are very cooperative and the service is fast compared to other resorts. My friend has taken our group of friends for a small get together. 

Nice place to stay

Place is actually good to stay but its a bit expensive. Toilet flush is old fashioned so its bit difficult to use. Water is not soo clean and since it is situated in village, power cut is more. When we visited, thr ws power cut from mor 6-9 everyday. And it is too far from the city. Around 20 kms inside and the road is not in good condition.

Good view but ...

A nice experience.  The farm house is built beautifully with great taste. The approach roads very bad and narrow.  The indication to reach the farm is written on white paint on a light coloured rock, so that there are ample chances that you miss the destination every now and then.
The service is excellent, food is very good.  Non-vegetarian food is not up to the mark. They have maintained the property so well and neatly.  The beauty of the property is that it is in the midst of nature with lots of trees and you are away from the traffic and other disturbances

Good Farm House amidst bad roads

Incredibly tranquil place, the large central area of the home stay is very atmospheric. They kindly accommodated us at short notice and we loved it. It's not very convenient for the Halebid and Belur temples (as others have noted, it's a dreadful road from Halebid - give yourself an hour!) but it's lovely. 

Yes the staff don't speak much English, but we got by fine together and they were incredibly sweet and attentive. The food was amazing and we had none of the problems with mosquitos or non-flushing toilets that others report. The rooms themselves were gorgeous, lots of bare wood, and the huge bathrooms look intensely luxurious (with resident banana tree) until you realise there's no shower, just a hot tap and a copper bucket. Very Eco, very refreshing but not to everyone's taste. I loved it though. 

Looking for a quiet weekend with books and stories by the fire, I would definitely go back
