The service was not good so late services even no breakfast and no morning tea the issue was the staffs were less this was the main reason for the late sight seen of the tourist for long distance there was a traffic issue the room prices were good and the location but the services given to the drivers were not good and room were not good in status given to drivers 

Soo baddd 

The experience was a 10/10 for all of us. It was a very refreshing stay at Mandarin Village Resort. The rooms were big enough and comfortable too. The premium rooms had big windows and we could witness the beautiful K from our windows and could also see the city lights at night. The mornings were so peaceful and pleasant there. The staffs were very helpful throughout. Special mention for the arrangements made during the bonfire. That was the best part. It was lovely staying there and we would love to visit again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!!

Very nice view from room. Kanchanjangha is there to welcome you.
They will provide you a organic tea as welcome drink. That is very refreshing after a long journey.

Very nice place to stay at Kaluk

I was searching for someplace which I didn't visit before, is in the lap of nature and crores away from the city hustle and bustle. My search landed me in Kaluk, West Sikkim.

We selected Mandarin Village Resort for the entire trip of 4 days. The reason for its selection was its location and surroundings. The resort is nestled in the mountain side and extends over acres where one can stroll about, sit and relax.

Mr. Bharat, the manager of the Resort is a very polite and helpful gentleman. He helped us in the search for a chauffeur for the trip at a very reasonable rate. On the day of our arrival Mr. Bharat was courteous enough to ask if we would have lunch. Whenever we faced any issue he would promptly respond and take a look or send someone to check the issue. All the staff were really courteous.

The restaurant is a great place for having your food with an awesome view of the surrounding valleys and mountains. Sanghak Choeling Monastery at Pelling is visible from Kaluk and on a clear day when Kanchenjunga range is visible, together they present a picturesque landscape.

We stayed for 3 days in the family suite. The cottage is good enough for two families. It has got a balcony which gives a great view of the Kanchenjunga mountains. There were few issues with the family suite which I would suggest the Mandarin Resort team to look into - certains bulbs were not working, amount of light was less in the secondary bedroom, few charging points were not working.

The last day we stayed in Premium Deluxe rooms which are on  a little lower level than the restaurant. Although the last day was cloudy, it was understandable that instead of these rooms the Deluxe rooms and the family suite would present much better views of the mountains as they are at an upper level. It seems that the Premium Deluxe rooms have been newly developed and thus have everything working properly. The middle of the rooms should have one more light.

The breakfast each day was different, tasty and fulfilling. We had khichdi one day at lunch, which was good. The dinner food taste varied. We liked the plain dal, dal tadka, aloo jeera and mixed veg. But the non veg items were not really cooked in a proper manner and didn't  suit our taste buds.

Two more suggestions - 

Cleaning and servicing of the rooms should be done at least every alternate day even without being informed which will ensure the resort being at par with other renowned ones.

Introduce another chef who can cook non-veg items suiting everyone's taste buds especially Bengalis since they form the major percentage of tourists.

The day of our departure the staff and Mr. Bharat made sure that our breakfast was packed at 6:30 AM in the morning before we left. 

All in all it was a really pleasant stay and I will recommend this resort to everyone as one will love it. 

Worthy mention: Our chauffeur Mr. Robin (+91 80161 33151) was really a skilled driver whose referral we got via Mr. Sudeep Subba (+91 83489 69503).



Pleasant and memorable stay

Hotel is located in the steep 100 meters down the main Kaluk bazar. Once you enter the premises, it's serene and beautiful. Although weather was not favourable that time, this hotel views the mountains and the valleys uninterruptedly.
We booked 2 cottage type rooms on the first floor. Rooms are quite big with good balcony to relax.
Food was moderately good and they serve food at their dining hall only. Room service is chargeable, I didn't like that idea.
Bad part is, they do not recharge their cable TV connections. Children have hardly anything to do in such places after sundown, if there is no TV. Neither this is a remote village where cable TV, internet facilities are not available.
Management should look into this.
Manager Bharat is a lovable young man, always ready to help.

Nice memorable place in the Himalayas

Fortunately, I traveled during the off-season (beginning of Feb 2020) and had the entire resort to myself. The resort is quite big with lot of sitting places. And the hospitality of Sikkimese people is unmatched. 

They serve a wonderful welcome tea during check-in whose taste I still remember. The Chinese Chopsuey preparation was excellent, so, were the other dishes. The washroom was clean and had a working geyser. 

Must visit if you want a quiet and peaceful time away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Quiet and tranquil resort for rejuvenation

I stayed in Mandarin village resort for 1N on 16th October. It was a wonderful stay. Excellent view. Nice room,food and staff. The resort offers great view of kanchanjunga unobstructed. Flower and vegetables are grown all around the resort.

Had stayed in Mandarin Village Resort for 2 nights 04-Apr-21 to 06-Apr-21. This could be one of the best examples where tranquility meets with luxury. Kaluk is a small village in West Sikkim, Mandarin resort is just 300 meters from the small Kaluk bazar, with a stiff approach road to the main gate of the resort. We stayed in the family room, an excellent accommodation with 2 rooms, 2 toilets, 1 dining area and an attached roof. The accommodation, the smiling faces of the support stuffs, the wellcome Mandarin drink, the delicious foods would definitely make the stay a memorable one. The manager Yuhan Limbo is super helpful and definitely has answers to all your queries.

Short trip to Kaluk

I stayed here with my family in November'2020 for 2-nights. Rooms are very well maintained. Washroom is very clean with 24-hours hot water. We were in a Premium Deluxe Room with a fantastic Kanchunjanga view.  All staffs are very friendly & well aware of do's & don'ts of Covid situation. Foods were fabulous & very tasty. I will give special thanks to Mr. Limbo & Mr. Gurung (Mamaji) for their helpful attitude & unforgettable hospitality.
The resort is almost 300m downhill from Kaluk bazar. They have arranged a vehicle to pick-up us from Darjeeling & drop at Bagdogra at very reasonable rate.  Resort is having own organic farming.; so you can take advantage of consuming fresh vegetables during your stay.
Kaluk does not have many sightseeing places. However you can explore Rinchenpong Monestry, Poison Lake,  Chhaya Tal etc. if you want to.

2-days Short Trip in Wonderful Resort

I stayed at the property with my friends in the month of April, 2019. The rooms were well maintained. The washroom was also clean. The rooms had attached balconies which gave wonderful view of the kanchandezonga.

The best part was the surrounding. It was beautifully decorated with flowers and Mandarin trees. Not to forget the Mandarin tea that was served as a welcome drink.

And a special mention of Mr. Limbu who handled all our requests and demands with a smile.
