OYO Island Lake Resort

I visited this place after Kerela 2018 flood and I was the only guest that night staying at the resort on the mid-island with 2 caretaker and the manager. It was adventurous though.  
Overall a wonderful stay. This place is situated in the middle of backwaters and the best thing about this place is that a boat will come to pick you up and drop you till the dock which will give you a feel like a GTA. The last boat 
 Is available till 9 or 10'o clock. It has a restaurant in a boat shape but it was closed since it was in a renovation after the flood. Nice place.

The location is great. The service of the staff was also good. The hotel cook was on leave, hence there was no arrangements, we had to run for lunch and dinner outside the resort. The location is amazing.

Excellent and friendly staff, the view is worth it, clean and spacious rooms, comfy house boat and shikaras, accessible location, Gaming room and a boat restaurant. 
Thanks to John - helped us make the trip a memorable one

Peaceful Stay With Beautiful Sunset

Extremely relaxing 

The stay here was average ... heard a lot about the place but reality was something else. Staffs not friendly at all... overall was an average experience.. would have been better with some other resorts ..

they charge adequately for the services provided...a room with clean washroom and AC.
Simple ,few staff,not much food choice.but happy to stay there for overnight.place can be made better if management want.then they will charge more. view is obstructed due to  parking of houseboats around.its on island and ferry is prompt to pick and drop you to the nearest land station in just 4 minutes.

its ok if you are only staying overnight .

The only good thing about the resort is it's location and that too is spoiled by Houseboats. The view is completely spoiled because of the Houseboats parked around the resort. 

The boats will be going for rounds between 1.30 to 5.30 and one can enjoy the view only at time.

Taking about the room, it's a very basic room. Basic furnitures like water bottle, wardrobe, mirror, etc., are missing in the room. There's no intercom in the room and we have to step out of the room and search for helpers in case if you need anything. You can get them only if you are lucky enough.

When we were about to retire to bed, we noticed how they have managed to cover up all dirty things. The sheet of the bed looks an age old with lots of small jokes and stains. And the pillow, not even beggers will like to sleep in such dirty thing. It just looks like as if it was taken from dustbin. Pl. find photos.
When we have to complain about the same, we couldn't find anybody out there at 9pm. Finally we managed to find one and complained the same, he just took the pillow and never returned back. Again when we were able to search and get him after 40 mins he just have the answer as no other pillows. Finally we have to sleep without pillows in the hard bed.

I am writing this review now, Just immediately when we had this experience. Yes, I am writing this from the resort itself. 

Helpers knows only Hindi, no English or any other language. The only one in the resort who was helpful was a gentleman who picked us through the boat. He speaks Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi and understands English as well. But he was missing in the late evening.
