This is a wonderful place to stay, away from the maddening crowds of the cities. Nestled in a gentle slope by the side of the Chengulam valley near Anachal "city"(as the Highrangers of Idukki call it) in Munnar, this well furnished Villa creates a unique ambience. To top it there is a Mountain theme park and a Dam closeby. It was simply great to stay there with family.Kids just loved the experience.

A great place for a peaceful getaway. Away from the hustle and bustle of the town, yet so near to it. Just a kilometer away from the nearest township where all you need is available including ATM booth and shops. Devadaru is an ideal place to unwind, relax and disconnect from daily drudgery. The air is crisp, the surroundings enchanting and the scenery breathtaking. Well appointed bath attached rooms with modern amenities, kitchen, dining area and open sit out, all make your stay comfortable and cozy. Food is taken care by two hospitable attendants. Rains are abundant and enjoyable. A mountain stream flows close to the Villa from which water is drawn for domestic use. Located just a few hundred meters away from the Chengulam dam where one can have a refreshing boat ride and with an adventure theme park close by, Devadaru is an ideal holiday destination. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here with a friend of mine. Highly recommended for couples and people who want to experience serenity.

Escape to Nature

A cozy home amidst pristine nature

We arrived at the villa at dusk and saw no reception or anybody awaiting our arrival. So we knocked on the door to the Villa and disturbed a family who has also booked the Villa. Three westerners with backpacks at a Villa in the middle of nowhere seemed to upset the children.

A caretaker appeared a couple of minutes later after we presume the family in the Villa called. At this point they had locked the doors and drawn the curtains! She spoke no English and called her boss. He explained our room was a few metres down the steep hill.

The room had 2 double beds and a small bathroom, no kitchen area we were shown, perhaps it was behind the back but there was no access. No living room. This place did not resemble the pictures because it wasn't the Villa displayed - Note nothing was mentioned on booking.com about the rooms being in a outhouse. Nor did it mention no access to the Villa. 

We reduced our stay to a single night and requested a taxi for 8am as we had booked a tour on the munnar tea plantation. The person we spoke with on the phone assured us that this would be arranged. This was disputed when surprising at 8am no vehicle arrived. At 10am we finally got transport (the Villa is in the middle of nowhere) and had to go and apologise to our tour guide! 

Breakfast was included in our stay. We ate this on our doorstep? When we asked for towels for the bathroom we were given one - there was three of us.

Overall false or misguided advertising occurred here and the suspicious 5 star ratings look a bit questionable... I am sure the owner will dismiss this but that is how I see it. 

We did not stay in the Villa in the picture!

We booked this home stay for 2 days ( July 10 & 11, 2015) through Agoda.com 

Second day we got email from this home stay to deposit (20%)of bkg amount, Rs. 2418.00 and we deposited it same day, but no confirmation mail on same day hence called to resort but no response. But after trying again & again second day we got confirmation mail from same mail id.

Finally we reached Cochin and reached Munnar late night, we found out his place  16 kms away from Munnar. Getting very difficult to find out we met Old lady Elsamma where no way to go our vehicle to home stay and advised to park vehicle at road side, now question is that how to carry luggages in muddy road up to that house was getting difficult, no co operation from concern, we disappointed and proceed to Munnar to find out other hotel late night, paid extra money, huge disappointment, and pain we stay at other hotel. 

Please do not refer this villa to any one. It is not reliable.

All above reveiws given 5 star are fake...

No perticular signboards...

Lost 2 hours to find out...

After that we found that they have no road to their hotel. They told us to park your vehicle on road and go high/top with your baggage...

Overall everything is cheating...

If i can, I will give negative than terrible ratings...

15-16 kms away from munnar...

All jungle area... no any safety... And charging high rates...

When we book rooms, they e-mail us to transfer 25% to their account. After transferring amount they are not able to reply 2 days??? Whether room is booked, money recd or not...

Best go to munnar and enjoy...
