Very nice place to stay. Great views excellent vista of the Fort and surrounding city from the rooftop patio. My room on the main floor was quiet and cozy the bed was very comfortable. The shower was excellent, plenty of hot water which was especially after a long travel day. The host made my stay very easy and helped organize an excursion into the desert. Would love to stay again. Thanks!

A lovely stay

We had a warm welcome from Dilip & Akbar. It is a family run small business & there were several gestures that made us feel like they’re looking out for us.  Akbar is a knowledgeable advisor & a great cook & a sweet man.  Dilip speaks fluent English and has deep knowledgeable about the history of Rajasthan, particularly the desert & its people.  This is a one stop shop for your stay in Jaisalmer. Ask them about their non-touristy desert experience.  We highly recommend this place.

Loved Jaisalmer

No better place to stay in Jaiselmer than this beautiful boutique hotel. As soon as you walk in you feel relaxed. The rooms are spacious immaculately clean and with the heavy wooden beautifully carved doors it feels very special. Up on the roof terrace you have a magnificent view of the fort and you can relax with a beer or a lassi whatever you want. Ghumon will look after you and cook you what you want when you want. It’s just a really friendly place. They will also arrange a night in the desert should you wish or even just dinner and then bring you back. Everything is very reasonably priced. They have a excellent laundry service too. I can’t say enough good things about this great hotel! Although it’s not in the fort it is just a short walk to the gate and really it’s so nice to see the fort lit up at night !

Best place in Jaiselmer

Best place to stay in jaisalmer,terrace give you best view of fort and jaisalmer city,all staff are kind and good experience they cooked good food at rooftop reastaurant,pls go to stay once at silk route hotel.

One of the best experience of desert.

It is a nice little hotel, with a beautiful view of the fort. Terrace is the place to be after sundown. Akbar and Ghuman are quite helpful to arange the safri, and other tours. The only let down was the food. But there are many restaurants near by.

The Silk Route Hotel stay

The hotel is well located in the artist quarter. The rooms are spacious, clean and ours had a lovely view of jaisalmer fort. The host and staff are very helpful and attentive. I would happily recommend this place. My only suggestion would be to tidy up the access pathway from the road to the hotel.

Great stay in the artist quarter

Great stay, clean room, try and get the room with the view of the fort. Chill out place + a great rooftop restaurant down the road called Gjai's, some of the best Rajastani food.

Only negative is the path leading up to the hotel needs to be kept clean, but its a lovely guest house and the street kids are so friendly

Great stay

We wandered into this place after leaving our less-than-desirable homestay on the other side of town. It was a life saver! Steaming hot showers, comfy blankets, and sunlight streaming in meant that we were cost even during rainy, cold, January days. 

The manager is great, and was very helpful in having our room cleaned and getting us checked in soon after we showed up. He was also very apologetic and responsive when there was an issue with the hot water (ask him if something is wrong - he's a star and will fix it immediately!). He even let us check-out late on our departure day as we got some work done on their lovely sunny terrace. 

The only thing I can fault is the WiFi. It's there, but it's not the strongest. 

Other than that, we really felt at home during the 5 nights we were there. We kept ordering pots of chai to the room, occasionally had breakfast, lunch or dinner and loved every meal or refreshment. 

Friendly staff, comfy room, great chai!

Me and my wife spent 3 nights there. It was great. Simple place with great staff and beautiful view. 
So many puppies in that neighborhood as well. 
It’s a good place to stay, felt like home. 
It is walking distance from a local market and some daba’s, and you can ricksha yourself up to the fort. 

I had a nice time!

We stayed for 2 nights here, the hotel was great, very well thought out. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable and the shower was great (mixer style - a rare feature in budget accommodation in India). We ate upstairs which was good, decent food at a fair price. The best part was the afternoon/evening excursion to the Thar desert with the owner in his jeep, the camel ride at sunset, dinner and drive back looking at the stars! A memorable experience for sure!
