This apartment has a little kitchen with what you might need to cook a little breakfast, lunch or dinner. Lounge is okay with sitting and eating place. Bathroom is fine. Bedroom is quite small for two people. The location is great. Located in the centre of the city. No wifi available. You have to go to the nearest cafe to get wifi. Apartment was clean and we were content, but not more.

Average but central location

I would agree completely with a previous reviewer ('Quart into a pint pot') that the Ice Cap Apartment had a lot to commend it, especially its location for local shops and facilities. But it was rather basic and would definitely have been too small for comfort had all the rooms in our section been occupied when my husband and I were visiting recently. (When we made the booking we had not appreciated the diminutive size of the accommodation!)  Our bedroom was particularly small, the kitchen facilities  adequate and the shared area was limited to seating around the table. We felt that the apartment would have benefited from more comfortable seating and some rearranging of furniture. We would have liked a better view from the rooms we did occupy despite being just a short walk outside to see the harbour below.

On the positive side the apartment was spotlessly clean on arrival and was serviced during our stay. It  provided a warm and cosy retreat during a spell of cold weather and we appreciated having the place to ourselves while we were in residence. The owner was helpful and obliging and overall we enjoyed our stay.

I  would recommend the apartments for hostel-goers or young people travelling  together especially during the summer months when they would be out and about more of the time. For visitors who prefer their own space and a bit of privacy, I think it could be a bit of a challenge.

Bijou hostel accommodation

Contained within a wooden cabin, are two apartments accessed by one main door. The outside of the building looks unfinished and very shabby which does not create a good impression. Each apartment has a kitchenette, dining area and shower/WC; however, these are not private but shared between three double rooms (accommodating 6 people). Ours at the rear of the house had no harbour views. The apartment at the front would have been a better option. Keys must be collected at Ice Cap Tours (Fredericiap Aqqutaa 5, 3952). The chap running this kindly drove down to the port to collect our luggage.

Our room was the size of a shoe box containing a bunk bed, small table and a wardrobe, and, with our luggage, there wasn't room to swing a cat. Moreover, the bunk beds were the most uncomfortable we have ever had the misfortune to sleep in, with very flimsy mattresses on top of metal bars which made it impossible to get a good night's sleep. My partner had difficulties getting into the top bed due to the position of the bunk squeezed into this tiny room, and had to climb onto the table to get up the ladder.

The kitchenette/dining area is basic with a full oven, fridge, toaster and coffee machine (no condiments such as salt and pepper however), but lacked some essential items such as a pair of scissors. Above the dining table with its very uncomfortable wooden chairs, is a large flat screen TV which has only Greenlandic and Danish channels. There is no wi-fi. The shared shower/WC was OK, clean with hot water and good pressure. Bed linen, towels and soap are provided. A washing machine and dryer are also available at no cost, great for trekkers who need to launder their clothing as we did. 

However, when all three rooms in the apartment we stayed in are occupied, things are somewhat cramped in the kitchenette/dining area. We were lucky to find ourselves sharing with four other travellers who were excellent apartment mates! I rather got the impression that the owner is out to make money by trying to get a quart into a pint pot and our room was really far too small for two people. Our stay was not unpleasant but it was rather uncomfortable and I wouldn't wish to use this accommodation for more than a couple of nights.

Size of the apartment was good, but the whole apartment was stinky.
Self catering so don't forget to have your food with you or buy there in the supermarket but be aware and ask opening hours and days etc etc. 
It wasn't modern and dependable specially the bathroom. 
Bedroom was so small you can just jump into the bed and no more space. Door must be closed for the night if you want to sleep well as there is no curtain or blinder in the living room area so all the daylight come into the room, but once you close the door you have no air. It was humid and woke up in the night because of sweating. 
Pillow and bedding was cheap and plastic. We were happy to leave this place. 
Even if it is a budget hotel but was expensive and quality was not good.
