The location was right beside the beach, it is a bit steep admittedly as it's situated on the hill but I only had to do it once a day. The view was incredible from room 5. Cooking utensils and free air conditioning with a good value supermarket just at the bottom of the hill. I had no complaints or questions for the owners and staff but they were always available at their office as I waved at them every morning. I did not need internet or watch TV so unsure about that but I'm their on holidays not to update Facebook and watch Netflix.

Beautiful town

Very friendly and accommodating owners (I was sorting out a rescue cat, and they had no problem with me keeping my new pet there! In fact, they have two cute dogs plus a very fit looking outdoor cat themselves).  As you’ll have read from other reviews, it’s set up a very steep hill and then the access to the apartments is up some nicely landscaped stone stairs.  So rather rules it out for anyone with mobility problems, even with the little car park below.  Although if you can manage with a walking stick, it might be ok; the stairs are properly built and there is lighting to the main parts. It seems to attract young couples and solo travellers for local walking, possibly because the price for the accommodation offered is very good, even in high season, so it’s great if you are on a tight budget. 

Really pretty location, overlooking the hills, cliffs and sea beyond, with the infamous Arianna in view and surrounded by olive trees and lovely flowering shrubs.  In October, the sound of birds chirping away was constant; I would imagine that in June and July, you’d be deafened by the sound of crickets!  Very pretty patio areas, with stone tables, bbq areas and sun beds dotted about the property. 

My room did not have mosquito nets or window screening, but in all the times I have been to Paleokastritsa, I have never been bothered by mosquitos as my tip is to use one or even two plug-in mosquito repellants (change disc every day) and preferably also a slow burning coil.  In these apartments, a plug-in was provided and in fact, they also had coils in the drawer too. These are great, especially outside as they really do repel everything.  You will get the odd insect, as the studios are set in the countryside (some random goats came by just down the road on my second day...) but nothing to be concerned about.

Standard basic but very clean and well-maintained accommodation but perfect for a simple stay. Bathroom is basic by Western European standards but, for the price you pay, it is absolutely fine. And clean. You will get a bit of “drain odour” from time to time, because of the Greek plumbing.  Hot water took a while to come through, but there was plenty of it when it did. 

If you are looking for something inexpensive and surrounded by nature, Stamatela Studios should definitely be on your list. It’s literally five or six minutes walk down to the three “main” beach bays of Paleokastritsa and same to the Alipa beach which has the little marina and great restaurant options (very picturesque).  Plus the Arianna apartments opposite has the pool which can be used totally free if you buy snacks/lunch there.  The only negative point I found for me, personally, was that the sound carried a bit so if people were talking well into the night in nearby apartments, it seemed amplified and made it a little difficult to sleep before midnight.  But the apartments are superb value for money and there is a lovely atmosphere there.  Air con is free too, although I didn’t need to use mine... it was chilly in October in the evenings, but plenty of spare blankets were provided. 

Great value, lovely surroundings

Very nice quiet location near Paleokastritsa beach only five mins up the hill from the supermarket - offering great views and relaxed atmosphere. Surrounded by olive and fruit trees - lots of colouful butterflies and various birds flying around. Unfortunately not practical for anyone in a wheelchair as the apartment is perching on a hill with lots of steps there are no ramps or lifts. Late at night area was not lit so bit of a struggle to get up to the room and shower was crammed and you had to hold shower head by hand, but those were the only minuses. Amazing views from all apartments facing the sea and owners are very friendly, no rush to get payment either. Informal and chilled out place. No frills - traditionally furnished for basic needs. Kitchen adequate and very effective air con that could be adjusted. Nice firm bed no duvets but extra blankets found in wardrobe. Sun loungers and tables on communal decking area and each apartment has a balcony with table and two chairs. Good value for money - 259 euros for twin studio for 7 nights via booking.com. If travelling from Corfu airport without too much luggage it's worth getting a cab to brand new Lidl not far from there (probably around 8 euros) and get food and wine shopping done there before walking to main bus station next door, buses run hourly to Paleokastritsa costing 2.50 euros each way. Bus goes all the way to the main car park next to Vrachos restaurant takes around 40 mins depending on request stops along the way. From there its 5 min walk up but with luggage you can ask staff in Vrachos to get a cab up there like we did. But there can also be times where local taxis are not available as they all seem to be busy with airport runs. (45 euros each way by taxi) Especially late at night we had to "bum" lifts ftom locals- all bar staff seem to be more than happy to help out and drive you home and not expecting any money either! All locals are so sweet and friendly and go out of their way to help you. We were part of a wedding group and everyone seemed to agree Paleokastritsa is definitely worth visiting again -food is very good and inexpensive - La Grotta amazing place to visit and snorkeling is good just on the main beach even. Plenty of colourful fish amongst thd bottom rocks. I had amazing time and would be very happy to return and stay at Stamatela studios next time.


Lovely peaceful retreat

The owners are really friendly and nice people. We arrived few hours earlier than we should, but there was no problem to keep our luggage in some safe place. We could visit town, go to the beach in the meantime. 
The room was quite big as for Greek conditions. There was well equipped kitchen, WORKING air conditioner (:D), really nice balcony with a beautifull view. Great place for breakfast. Everything is always kept clean.
There is also really nice garden, where You can rest if You already have enough of beach.
Location of the hotel is very good. It's close to the main beach in Paleokastritsa, port, Corfu Aquarium and the Monastery. There is also shop right behind the corner.

There were problems with WI-FI connection,but well... You don't go for holiday to spend time in the Internet ;)

Fine, calm place in the most beautiful village on the island.

Stamatela Studios
We stayed at the stamatela in June 2015 with temp of 30 + the free air con was fantastic. The room was spotless on arrival, better than most hotels, it had everything you will need for a self catering holiday including a oven. 
The view from room 5 was spectacular , mountains , sea , monastery all in one view. The balcony has table and two chair, and is bathed in morning sunshine, after a full day in the sun you will enjoy the shade in the afternoon
On the ground floor you will find sun lounger along with a small area tucked away around the side that is a lovely sun trap. And large tables to seat up to 8 people. There is no pool, but on the sun terrace you have a shower to cool off if required however there it's not anywhere to buy drinks and snacks .
The family who run the studios are none intrusive, but will do there best to make you feel welcome.
You are also made welcome over at the arianna pool bar. You can have drinks and snacks at the bar, relax around the pool, the owners always will make you feel welcome. The pool is a good size but no paddling pool for the very young, the pool area has the sun on it all day until late evening. 
 Now with everything there is a down side, there is a short but very steep hill up to both. And you will feel your heart racing once you have arrived at either the pool or studio. The good thing about the pool is you can get a ice cold beer, were at the studio, you have a lot of stairs up to your room.
I'm in my 50's and not too fit and along with my partner in her forties we did the week without any transport. My advise to anyone with walking/ breathing problems, or young family's with pushchairs, you should hire a car or find accommodation on sea front.
This part of palakastrisia is lovely just the right amount of bar/restaurants. The gift shops closed around six and the supermarket was open until 10 o'clock. There was a good range of things you would need and the prices were ok. Eating out was not too bad. Meal for too with 4 drinks around €28.00 ( £20) large beer £2.50. Chicken kebab meal £6 spag boll £ 4.50 steak £12.50. This was at the smurf restaurant right on the beach and was very nice.
To sum it up this is a beautifull place to visit but be prepared for some hill climbing, the stematela studios have everything you need but that hill is quite a challenge, the arianna pool bar is a nice way too spend your days should you just want to chill.
Remember this is only my thought on things, you need to go and make up your own mind. I would return to this part of Corfu and I would also stay at the very clean and peaceful stamatela studios. But I would have transport bike or car. Wherever you decide to holiday have a full and enjoyable time remember these are what memories are made from 😎🌴

Clean well equipped with great views

We stayed  in one of the studios with a seaview for a week in Septemper 2013. Everything about the studio was great, we didn't lack anything, definitelly worth its price. The only minus could go to the small shower, which required us to be very careful when showering as the bathroom floor got very wet, but this is nit picking.
The apartments are located 5min up the hill from the main beach, local shops and restaurants. This hill could be a problem but only if you were very elderly or unfit.
The owners were very friendly and helpful and were not imposing.
The surrounding area is stunning with at least half a dozen beaches to choose from all with their own charm. The 6 euros it cost for a snorkling kit was well worth the money.
For those who would like to walk to the Lakones village it is just over 30min up the old path. At the top you are rewarded with an old village of narrow streets and breath taking views over Paleokastritsa.
