Best food on Meganisi!  Philippos, the chef, is absolutely fantastic.
Such a fabulous, family-run hotel.  Very friendly and welcoming. Super staff, delicious breakfasts, fantastic pool, helpful minibus to and from beach, and beautifully clean.
George and his extended family run a brilliant hotel - I can only bear to share because Meganisi Hotel deserves top reviews!

FABULOUS!

Loved this hotel. We stayed in a superior room which was large and well equipped with a good bathroom and nice little balcony with lovely views. 
The food (breakfast and dinner) is excellent. The pool area is lovely. 
I am gluten intolerant and George had gf bread for me at breakfast and also gf rolls for dinner. He went through the menu telling me what was suitable and even cooked whitebait and saganaki specially for me without flour!! That was such a treat. 
It is a 15 min walk down into the harbour if you want more options for evening meal (and a 20min walk back uphill).
All the staff are very friendly and efficient. 
Couldn't ask for anything more. I would recommend to anyone.

Great family run hotel with fabulous food and great views. 

Fabulous family run hotel we have been going for 12 years and this hotel never disappoints! Very clean, fab pool, good food and staff are excellent. George (the owners Son) always goes the extra mile to make his guests feel welcome! 

HOTEL MEGANISI KATOMERI MEGINISI

The most genuine and genuinely friendly welcome I/ we have ever received at any hotel anywhere. And that on our first ever visit!   
                                                                                                                                                                                                     The welcoming party for the hotel’s minibus, which picked us up from the port, consisted of; owner George, his daughter Christina, a couple of other family members, plus, Makis who works in the hotel during the season.  A few couples who were there for their umpteenth visit were treated to hugs and kisses by everyone as if they were returning members of the actual family not hotel guests! 

We were in Maganesi in just the second week of the season. Having only booked the week before, expectations for our room allocation were therefore not that high, but we were blown away to be given a room on the top floor of the main building with two balconies, stunning views over the pool and down the valley to a harbour with yachts, beyond which was the sea and distant mountains! 

That evening, we had dinner at the hotel which was very good. They have oven baked ‘specials of the day’ announced on a board by the main entrance from mid-day. We arrived on a Sunday so the special was slow cooked lamb with potatoes. It and everything else we chose was fantastic which is why we ate there again a few days later. The Hotel Maganesi’s has some lovely terraces and balconies to eat on with views of the valley the village or both! The hotel was one of only three restaurants we chose to eat in during our stay. Prices seemed to be on a par with most other Tavernas on the island which isn’t always the case in our experience of Greek hotels.

This is a family owned and run 3* hotel with 5* standards of hospitality. Those looking for uniformed staff, name badges, cocktail bars and super luxurious surroundings will doubtless be disappointed. This type of hotel thankfully in my opinion, doesn’t exist on the island which makes Magenisi, both the island and hotel something of a welcome time machine taking you back to experience a simpler more personal Greece of the past. 
So, may I suggest that if you want a clean, pretty, unpretentious, relaxing and friendly environment with a family and staff who work tirelessly to look after you and genuinely care for their guests, then Hotel Maganesi is a jewel and almost perfect. 
                                                                                         
The hotel itself has both character and characters, not least of whom is George himself a man who is perfectly suited to his role. Not surprising that many returning guests we met consider it a home from home and members of the family to be dear friends. We are also looking forward to going back!

Lovely hotel with fantastic views run by the nicest people!

We stayed here at short notice for two nights. It's a nice location about 10 mins walk outside Vathi. The views from the pool area and rooms are fantastic, and George and his team were really friendly and helpful. Food (breakfasts and evening meal) were great. We chose a standard room because, though small, it was much more stylish than the superior one we saw. Unfortunately the bed was however extremely hard, to the extent that our backs wouldn't allow staying another night. I hope George can improve this because otherwise the hotel is just perfect!

Wonderful quaint hotel just outside Meganisi

Went to Lefkada with Ionian and Aegean Island Holidays. The organisation was faultless - super BA charts flight and someone to meet us and help pick up the hire car at Preveza. Easy drive down to the villa on Lefkada (a causeway meant that no ferry trip necessary). The villa was beautiful- brand new fixtures and fittings and lots of thoughtful touches. The rep from Ionian came round with a map and talked us through the sites and gave us some top tips about when to go to places to avoid the crowds. 

Only a short drive to a very large but popular and crowded beach backed by lots of bars and restaurants- would be nice for a young and lively crowd but we lreferred the more peaceful surroundings of Agios Nikitas- a lovely fishing town with lots of beachside tavernas and a little fleet of water taxis that take you around to a less busy, much more spectacular beach (Milos beach). The water is the most beautiful colour and clear and clean. Agios Nikitas is only about 5 mins drive from the villa and if you get there before 10, free parking is available. 
Neither the villa nor the local beaches are suitable for young children - the pool has no fencing and there are steep steps/drops around the house. The beaches on the west coast are exposed to the wind and shelve quite steeply. There were people there with children aged about 10 upwards but not many really little kids. 

I can’t recommend this tour operator highly enough - we had a fabulous time.
