Hotel Restaurant Siegblick

I was lucky to get a recommendation for the Siegblick from a close family friend. We enjoyed everything that we could want in a reasonably priced hotel and more. Location. The hotel is located about 1.5km out of the town centre. When I looked at the postion on the map, I saw that it was close to a main road but otherwise in a very rural setting. The sound insultation is excellent and we were completely untroubled by noise. From the hotels there are fine views of the area and plenty of really nice walks in the countryside. There is a very spacious car park. Comfort. We statyed in a double room with en-suite bathroom of course. The room was very comfortable and was not in the least cramped. In addition the room, and indeed the hotel generally was immaculately clean. The bed was warm and comfortable. Despite my tending to suffer from insomnia, I had two nights of the best sleep that I have enjoyed for ages. About the only negative - and it is almost too insignificant to mention - is that the quanitity of soap provied in the bathrooms is minimal. I think that this is common to many hotels in Germany as I have noticed this before. Catering. Breakfast was included in the tarrif and was typical continental style. The bread rolls were very fresh and the platter included some very tasty German schinken. Coffee was in unlimited supply. We did not have dinner at the hotel so cannot comment on this, Service. When I rang from England, I spoke in my rather broken German and they replied in far better (but not perfect) English. They accepted the booking over the phone and confirmed everything by e-mail On arrival we were treated with the type of customer care that is rarely enjoyed these days. Good service was in evidnce throughout our visit. They do ask that, if you are going to arrive later than 22:30 that you let them know. In short, I was delighted with the Siegblick and just about everyhting about it and I look forward to staying there many times in future.
