We spent three nights in this hotel with 3 years old daughter and it was a little bit below expectation experience.
This hotel seems as very average city hotel located inside multi-residential building without reception except morning time for check-out. Rooms are small and not too clean. Our room had some smell inside which was not possible to fully vent.
Breakfast was also too much basic without any real selection.
It could be acceptable for budget and cheap hotel but rate was same as for much better hotels in Germany.
As well the most terrible problem was to find some parking. Every day we spent more than half hour to find parking and usually too far from hotel.

Average city accommodation but not budget

If you are used to spend your travelling nights in pleasant 4 or 5 star hotels, offering amenities and comforts, this is not your place definitely.
If, on the other side, you need just a clean, quiet and cheap place to sleep (like me, in this case) Hotel Meyer can be the right solution in Hannover.
The furniture is quite 'Basic' as well as the breakfast.
Staff, although 'invisibile', is efficient, helpful and polite.


Just to sleep...

Arrived at about only 2130 on a Friday night and there was no one manning the reception. I had been forewarned and so had emailed a couple of days prior to arriving to get the key code. Unfortunately, the code they gave me was incorrect! Not a great way to start a mini break.... Anyway, after eventually gaining access we had 2 rooms booked one was fine, the other was a smoking room. Very annoyed as my daughter is asthmatic & I specifically booked 2 non smoking rooms. When I pointed out my booking requests the next morning, all the lady could say was the hotel was fully booked and she had no other rooms available. When I asked for a discount you might have thought I had asked for her first born, the keys to her house and car and a night with her husband!! So, no go there. I do think if you specifically ask for a non smoking room you should get one.

On Saturday, the reception was manned to about 1000 and then the ladies disappeared into the  ether! There was no one around to help, particularly unhelpful when we ran out of loo roll with no spares! 

Although the hotel is clean and tidy they don't supply clean towels every day. Odd. Most hotels give you the option as to whether you want clean ones every day. 

On the plus side, the hotel is only about 25 mins walk to the herrenhausen gardens for the international fireworks competition and is easy to access the centre of town. Close to tram and bus routes.
