I lived at the Hotel Post Fabre for 88 days while looking for an apartment or house to rent in the area. This happened 40 years ago in 1980.  However my wife and I always think well of the friendly staff and especially the breakfasts.  We have lived in and traveled throughout Europe most recently this summer for a month.  The point is that whenever we stay at a hotel the breakfast is always compared to the Post Faber and I have yet to find a hotel in Europe that can beat their breakfast.

The hotel is in the middle of Crailsheim, right next to the Marketplace. They have a restaurant with decent food and a house bar. The beds are comfortable and the place is clean. I've stayed at this location three time. The first was in a single room where the carpet was so scuffed up you could almost see the floor beneath it. The secon and third time I stayed with my wife. The room was of an older model, but good enough. Then I booked a room over Christmas about 6 month in advance and called the hotel about 3 month ahead of our stay to make sure everything was still good. They confirmed. Then about a month before our planned stay I get a call letting me know the reservation has been cancelled do to the fact that the staff wanted off over Christmas. Kind of lame is all I can come up with.

OK, but lame...

Very clean, with comfortable beds and good service.  For example, I needed to borrow an iron and the iron and ironing board were brought up to my room within 5 minutes.

The beds are extremely comfortable, but the bathroom was on the small side with little space for toiletries for 2 people.  On a previous stay there I had a larger bathroom with a bath - this time there was only a shower.

The windows open properly, which is a good thing in the summer when it can get very warm.  The hotel is located in the town centre, but Crailsheim is a quiet town so there is little or no noise at night, even with the window open.  There are, however, church bells!

Breakfast is fine - nothing special, but pretty good.  There is free wi-fi in the rooms.

Typical German family run hotel - in a good way

Some of the rooms are small so ask for what you want. The owner and his daughter are extremely helpful, allowing us to work late into the night in the restaurant and bar after the meal was over. It has one of the better restaurants in town, although not in the same league as the more expensive restaurants in the countryside. Nice buffet breakfast, although the muesli/cereal selection could be more interesting. I'll definitely try to stay here whenever I'm working in Crailsheim. 

Great family-run hotel

Nice hotel. Good value with a decent size room located in the centre if town. Nice restaurant and very efficient and helpful staff. Rooms were warm and airy. 
Breakfast was a nice buffet with reasonable choice. Would recommend.

Good Hotel, fair price, good service

I've worked in Crailsheim numerous times over the year, and tried many hotels in that time. This is the best of the lot.

Rooms are comfortable, very clean and warm, with plenty of space. Bathroom is small, shower is minimal size, and light above mirror is too far back to illuminate face while shaving. Breakfasts are better than average for hotels in towns of this size. Dinners are simple and taste good, but portions are very large and thus more expensive than necessary. Car parking can be a challenge on certain evenings of the week, but the hotel location is a winner!
