I had a room with a balcony, with a wonderful view of the mountains. The mountain inn overlooking Obersalzberg, Jenner and Watzmann, just nice! The rooms are convenient and nicely decorated. The service staff are very friendly and do a good job. The Springl family are perfect hosts, very friendly and competent. The menu offers a great selection, there is plenty on the plate at a reasonable price. I feel very comfortable in the mountain inn and with the Springl family and always come back!!

Perfect vacation with very good hosts.

Visited here after the salt mines tour but according to the weather app there had been thunder storms during the day however it was lovely and dry when we arrived at the restaurant later in the evening for dinner. They have a beautiful outdoor set up with many tables but we were not allowed to eat outside 'in case it might rain' despite all of the tables being set up. The waiting staff were rude from the moment we walked in. They told us we could only eat outside at 'our own risk' and that if it started to rain once we had our meals at the table then they would not accommodate us inside (despite the restaurant being half empty). So we decided to take the risk because the weather looked very promising. The rude waitress came back over and told us that they were no longer willing to serve us outside at all and we could only sit inside, so we asked for a table. After we were shown to our table we waited 10 minutes for our drink order to be taken (without menus) and a further 5 minutes for it to come (wrong order). After another 10 minutes I asked the waitress if we could have some menus to which she responded, 'your girlfriend is so aggressive' speaking directly to my partner as if I was not in the room and with a raised voice causing a scene and for other guests to look over. I could not believe what I was hearing, she came back with the menus and slammed them on the table. Other guests were waiting for menus, drink orders etc... the staff were clearly incompetent to run the business as expected by the paying customers. The situation escalated when the same waitress was collecting the plates from other guests on the next table and started to moan about me whilst I was sitting there! It was unreal and from that moment I was not prepared to put any more money behind that bar than I had to! We paid the bill and took our drinks outside *finally* and enjoyed the view and went elsewhere to eat. The restaurant was stuffy, had no atmosphere, no background music, terrible service and a lack of consideration for guests. People working front of house positions should remain professional at all times and greet their paying customers who are prepared to part with hard earned money. Other guests were clearly dissatisfied and others were also leaving that had wished to sit outside. I mean we even offered to collect our food from the bar and walk outside with it ourselves and return the plates which is basically self service! It is such a shame because it is a beautiful location but the worst customer service ever experienced!!! AVOID IF YOU ARE NOT LOCAL.

We like to come here all the time. The service staff are very friendly and quick. The menu offers a suitable choice for every taste. Everything was freshly cooked and tasted deliciously again!!! Hardly any other restaurant has such a wonderful view as the Oberkälberstein Inn. The Sprigel family also runs an associated game reserve. At a feeder machine you can buy food cheaply. The children love feeding the roe and deer. Whether lunch, coffee and cakes, dinner or even a drink there - you can enjoy every time and every situation very much. TIP: a table is highly recommended, or you can take a free time to wait on the premises.

A pearl among the hosts of Berchtesgaden Land

Holidays in the Oberkälberstein mountain resort, which is a holiday in a splendid location above Berchtesgaden with a fantastic view of the Watzmann and Berchtesgaden Alps. The rooms are nicely furnished, very clean and with daily service. The breakfast is varied and rich. However, the absolute highlight is the very good Bavarian cuisine. A good selection of dishes with compelling quality. The holiday was rounded off by the friendly and welcoming service of the Springl family and your team in the service area. A successful holiday, surely once again.

Having a good time

The view is unique, the food is excellent, and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are beautiful and home furnished. You can even feed and caress the Red Wild. It's always a great experience to be there. Very highly recommended!

Beautiful view and best food

When we went to visit our friends in Berchtesgaden, we had dinner twice in Oberkalberstein and were very satisfied: if you are looking for delicious Bavarian dishes, everything here is well kept. Everything is fresh and well prepared, the service is friendly and attentive, and if you can sit on the beautiful terrace with a beautiful view in good weather, the Bavarian evening is perfect️

Fat, good️

We're always relaxing, with nice people, actually friends, enjoying good food and peace. Where others live, we take vacations. The rooms are very clean and you feel comfortable and you don't lack anything.

Time off

This is where you can make friends. The food and the location of the Oberkälberstein mountain hotel is just a dream. Keep going!!!! Great performance and service!!!!

You always feel like you have good friends, very nice staff, and the hosts are very friendly. The rooms are well maintained and the price-performance ratio is great. The food is very good and the portions are great.

Pure relaxation

We are on vacation here at the Oberkälberstein mountain hostel. We were warmly received on arrival. The Springl family and the staff are very warm. We feel very well here!! The rooms are well furnished and very clean. The breakfast buffet is very tasty and well-arranged. The hammer, however, is the lunch and dinner kitchen. Everything we ate was totally delicious and plentiful. Thank you very much for the great days! Just go, it's worth it!! The brains.
