Hotel Hansablick Berlin

For my first visit to Berlin, I was looking for a hotel in a quiet area and close to Tiergarten as I expected to be walking there. Within my budget up popped Hotel Hansablick … and I’m so glad it did. I could not have made a better choice! A bonus of its location is that you can hop on the S9 S-Bahn train at the airport and it will take you directly to Tiergarten S-Bahn station, which is no more than a five minute walk from the hotel. On arrival I received a very friendly greeting and was soon unpacking in my room, which was spotlessly clean, bright and airy with all the usual creature comforts. I hadn’t booked breakfast in advance, but swiftly rectified that at reception. This proved to be a great move as it was definitely one of the best buffet breakfasts I’ve ever enjoyed. It also has the benefit of it being available from 06:30 should you wish to cram as much sightseeing into each day as possible. The staff are on hand to help you at all times, for example to guide you towards somewhere to eat for dinner. On their recommendation I tried “Mokka” on the first evening, which was a lovely Italian restaurant no more than 15 minutes away. A word of warning, though, is that they don’t take card payments. For the remaining evenings I dined al fresco at the Quelle Biergarten, which is very conveniently situated a few minutes away just before the Tiergarten S-Bahn station, and enjoyed a delicious Spargel (Asparagus) salad amongst other things. And they take card payments. The best recommendation I can give Hotel Hansablick is that I would definitely return!
