This is maybe the worst kept secret in the area as several friend recommended this place but its reputation is well deserved. Beautiful renovated farm with 3 rooms only, manicured garden and pool, with nice details  and a  5 stars feeling. Ultra calm. Hiking paths from the front door and the village 15 minutes away by foot.  The hosts are very professional and welcoming and the breakfast one of the best we had since a long time. Price reasonable for the quality. Absolutely recommended.

Excellent

A true gem perched above the town of Saou. The homemade confiture and brioche for breakfast, direct access to hiking trails off the property, and evening walks to the village for dinner were some of the highlights. The owners keep the place immaculate with attention to detail and a distinct respect for the domaine's heritage. Highly recommended.

Special

This is indeed a special place.  As seductive as the photos of Domain du Roc are, the inn itself is even more beautiful.  Upon arrival one discovers the intimate beauty of the various outdoor spaces.  There is a lovely terrace, kitchen garden, covered overlook, and private pool with its own terrace.  There are many nooks with paired chairs to find a peaceful private spot.
Perhaps even better than the accommodations and location are the owners themselves.  From their initial welcome, the owners truly seem to enjoy what they're doing.  They are engaging without being intrusive.  Delightful in every regard.
I was unprepared for how beautiful Saou and its environs are.  It is a wonderful part of the world.
We were engaged in a self-created through-hike in the Drome.  After a week of hiking we enjoyed all of the various towns we saw, but Saou stood out as our favorite.  It is the place that draws one back.  Our only regret on this trip was that we couldn't stay at the Domaine du Roc longer.

Spectacular Accommodations and Location

This is our fourth visit here to our favorite B&B on earth. There is a superb feeling of serenity at Domaine du Roc — a combination of the glorious setting, the beautifully renovated buildings, the leisurely delicious breakfasts outside on the terrace, the warm welcome from Laurence and Claude, the silent starry nights, the lovely walks in all directions....and more. The other guests are always friendly and relaxed. I wouldn’t change a single thing.

Paradise!

My boyfriend and I spent 3 nights at the Domaine du Roc and we had a delightful time there. 
The gardens were absolutely magical. Everywhere Laurence and Claude have some smalls terraces where you can have your intimacy, calm and quiet. The view on the mountains directly from the swimming pool and the main terrace was breathtaking. 
Laurence and Claude were perfect hosts, always happy to help, providing tips about local markets, hikes and nice restaurants. Very friendly and discreet at the same time which was great.
We will definitely book again if we decide to come back to the Drôme region for our holidays.

Beautiful location and very friendly hosts

This B&B's location is probably the most beautiful we have ever been to. The views are magnificent, the tranquility overwhelmingly satisfying. This is the Drome at its very best. Claude and Laurence are very gentle, generous and warm hosts who will do everything to make you feel at home. They serve a delicious breakfast. The place is well equipped, our room was spacious. There are several spots on their domain where you can find chairs to enjoy the peace, listen to birdsong or watch the natural life. The Domaine du Roc is perfect.

Perfect

Everything about this B&B was perfect - stunning location with very comfortable accommodation, nearby village with excellent restaurants, great walking/hiking/cycling country and the hosts were extremely attentive and very friendly. We stayed in the Petite Suite with friends and we all enjoyed a very relaxing time. We left feeling refreshed and hope to return! Our French improved (slightly)!

Honestly.
The Drome in France is just as beautiful as anywhere in Provence but without the crowds!
We have just returned from Le Domaine du Roc and can honestly say this is a stunningly beautiful home with views to die for.
Laurence and Claude really have found a little slice of paradise.
Relaxation, serenity and pure indulgence for enjoying oneself are the order of the day.
It was a real pleasure to share their home for a few days an experience the beauty of the local area; towns, villages, gastronomy and terroir.
Still dreaming of our time spent there.

Beautifully restored farmhouse in a dramatic setting next to one of the most unusual geologic formations in France. Claude and Laurence are delightful, attentive, helpful hosts. Everything about their immaculate B&B creates an absolutely tranquil, relaxed experience: stunning views in all directions, many outdoor seating options throughout the extensive property, great walks and hikes from the front door, a lovely salt-water pool, delicious breakfasts with homemade jams (the fig & orange was our favorite!), stargazing and sunsets with no light pollution. Amazingly good restaurants nearby or you can fix and eat your own meals in the large kitchen/dining/living room set aside for guests. This is a beautifully mountainous, forested area of the rural Drome region.

Absolutely tranquil experience

We had a very enjoyable (short) stay at Domaine du Roc. The place is beautiful and has been renovated with taste. 

We particularly appreciated the friendly welcome from the hosts, the peaceful environment and the beautiful scenery. 

We strongly recommend this place.
