We stayed at the Résidence Goélia La Grande Plage for 6 nights at the end of August/beginning of September 2017 and were able to get the short duration by booking through a well known on-line booking agency.

Although we had booked a 1 bedroom apartment for 2 adults and a teenager, we were allocated a 3 bedroom apartment on the ground floor, so we had much more space than expected.

The apartment was clean, tidy, well equipped for our needs and the beds were made up when we arrived. Having a ground floor apartment meant that we had plenty of terrace space and although facing the road, it was a very quiet location.

The apartment complex and grounds were kept tidy and there was plenty of secure off road parking.

The apartments are a short walk to the beach and you can walk to the restaurants in the town.

Good value base for exploring the area

Stayed a week in a 4/6 person appt.  Master bedroom had En suite with sink & shower. Hired bedding but fitted sheet very shrunken & came off easily would take own next time (only 1 fitted & 1 flat in pack). Paid for wifi but reception in room poor, best to use free in lobby.  2nd bedroom had 2 single beds & was ok as was bathroom & separate Loo but the shared living space is tiny, only realistically good for 2 people.  Kitchen well stocked with equipment. Pool small but nice and whole area is lovely and quiet. Perfect for myself and husband but prob too quiet for the 2 teenage boys.  Hired tv & ran laptop thro it for DVDs.  Super U and Huge E Le Clerc nearby.  Shop next to Super U does bike hire.  Bread man come selling lovely quality croissants, pain au choc, baguettes & pain au raisin at 8.45 on the dot but not Monday's - right outside hotel, beeps horn on arrival.  Reception has board games & books to borrow & sells small cleaning pack for appt (washing up liquid & sponge etc).

Excellent Value

Lovely clean apartment block. Our flat was rated for 4 adults and 2 children, but we felt that the living area was a bit cramped for just the two of us. Very quiet, except that they are buiilding an apartment block 150 metres down the road, so some noise on west facing balconies.
Wi-Fi was free in reception area and very quick.
Our only complaint was having to pay €40/week to use the TV. Good selection of french channels but €40!

Pleasant Stay but €40 to watch TV

We were two adults and a toddler and booked into an apartment with two double bedrooms (one ensuite), a separate bathroom, a separate WC and a kitchen/lounge/diner. We were on the second floor and had a spacious (and safe) balcony. The bedrooms and bathrooms were great but the kitchen/lounge/diner felt a bit cramped for the three of us. I have no idea how you would squeeze in 4+ people - given there was a sofa bed in the lounge area! Having said that, the apartment was very clean and beats cramming into a one room hotel room any day, and was cheaper than an equivalent hotel. You can opt for a bed and breakfast option but a baker comes on site every morning selling his (very tasty) wares so we made use of that.There is a pool which is an ok size and never appeared over busy (we were there in June) and the Residence is just over ten minutes walk to the beach and about 15 minutes walk to the main street with many restaurants. There is also plenty of free secure parking. The Residence itself looks very new and is located in an area which is clearly being developed with many half built villas, which were individually styled and many looked high spec. I would stay in such accommodation again but would not return to Saint Gilles Croix de Vie again as the resort was a bit rough round the edges and there are nicer resorts in the vicinity.
