MS Florence Nile Cruise

I spent there one night after coming from Abu Simbel. It's a budget hotel but my room was good: great views to the river and an additional small balcony. My bathroom was clean, no complains at all. Staff was friendly and helpful (they also showed me a nearby restaurant). I got a really small breakfast box as I left at 5:15 am and the taxi driver the hotel arranged was on time. From the roof top terrace with bar (non-alcoholic drinks) there is a great view to the river and to the Nubian side. Also a great place to watch sunset. When I was there wifi was not working. If you are on a budget and you want to stay on the Corniche that's the place to book!

This hotel is probably in the 3 star level, facilities are basic but functional. There is a roof top bar with pool although it was winter when I was there so the water was a little too chilly for a swim. The view of the Nile is fantastic and the attached pic is from my balcony. There are ATMs and mini markets close by same for the tourist markets. So while not a flash place it’s central and clean. Wifi is very poor so I recommend a SIM card from vodaphone.

Budget place with amazing views

Hotel with a View

We stayed here recently with a g adventures tour group. Staff extremely unhelpful and uninterested, rooms okay clean light with a small balcony, lots of other guest and corridor noise. Could hear the street so loud so nightimes were very hard to sleep. The bathroom very inpractical the bathroom flooded each time we used the shower bathroom felt grotty,tge lobby was off putting very dark and uninviting. Breakfast was a discrase unsure if you could call it breakfast. 3 items to choose from and they looked well not so good. But the view from the roof top was absolutely gorgeous down over the nile just perfect to sit up there of an arvo and take in the view of the nile river. Nice and central atms close, markets and restaurants close. Good position 

G adventures stay

My wife and I stayed two nights here. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked.

We had an early wake up call to visit Abu Simbel. The hotel called an hour early. The next morning, we had no early call, but got one just the same. That left a bad taste.
That said, the staff tried to be helpful in every way possible. 

The bathroom was a wreck. The shower hose had a leak in the side and little of the water made it to the shower head. There was no plug for the tub, so you couldn't take a bath. 

The view of the Nile from our window was wonderful.

Just OK

The hotel seems well located and the views from the front windows and roof bar terrace over the Nile are as good as it gets, postcard stuff. The room and bed were okay as was the bathroom. The wi-fi was just about non-existent and the breakfast not great. The reception like a shop counter. There was heavy Police security inside and outside the hotel when we were there, which was reassuring. The staff not that friendly or helpful. This hotel is typical of most hotels in the Middle East, they have no ongoing maintenance programme and little idea of what the word clean really means.

Okay for a night or two!

The hotel is clean, safe, and centrally located.  The wall paintings were great.  The staff is helpful and patient.  There is a money exchange nearby and stores for shopping. There are large restaurants a short walking distance from the hotel.  A bridal party with dancing and laughter took place on the street at the front door.  Great music and fun to watch.  They did not mind us videotaping the activity.  After a while the group hopped in a variety of vehicles and moved on.  Do not expect five star rooms.  This is not a five star hotel but it is just what you need.

Central Location with Great View

Highlights:
1) They just dont pick up the phone. We were ttrying to call them a day in advance to arrnage for car pickup because was flight was going to reach at 11:40 pm and we just could not get through. Trust me the Aswan airport has no proper cab companies/ Uber. Only 1 or 2 private drivers who will fleece you 
2) Room was really cramped. We got room near a pump and it was a bit noisy. Safe was old fashioned and despite the staff openeing it once, it didnt work again. Water was leaking from the shower side
3) WiFi is not available in all the rooms and our room didnt have access

Breakfast - Dull and not that good. Taste of the items wasnt good...spread was not bad. Staff really struggles with English though 1 or 2 staff will  try to help you. They could not tell us which place in their hotel could really offer dinner - breakfast area, bar or any other place!! Breaksfast by the Nile - amazing view....

Though this was the cheapest we got on the main road as we did not want to stay in an island hotel.

Ok, the view from the lounge is OK and the Nile River is basically across the street  Those are the pluses.  Hotel is old, staff was not always attentive, elevator did not always work.  I bet that many who stay here are on a tour and don't have a choice.  Oh yes, the Coptic Orthodox Church is only a few blocks away.  The wi-fi is free, but extremely slow and don't try to open or send files or pictures.

Other than nice roof top this hotel is a complete disaster. It is dirty, elevators do not work, no arrangement for in room tea/coffee, no heating, unclean toilets, does not deserve to exist. Unfriendly staff and does not supply even a bottle of water. Stay away from this property.

Worst Hotel possible

Total disaster. Check in took us over 50 minutes! When our room was finally available the lift up to level 4 was not working because someone left the door open on level 2- meaning the lift wouldn’t operate. Walked up to level 2- Shut the door myself and continued the walk up to level 4. There was glass outside the room door from when they had swept the foyer and hadn’t picked it up. The room itself seemed ok. Then noticed there were no towels, no toilet paper and no tissues. One of the towels has a massive hole. The toilet then did not flush and a room attendant came back and turned the tap on that was connected to the toilet- unsure why it was turned off in the first place? We got asked if we wanted to change rooms but decided against it because the room upstairs wasn’t any better. The only thing good about this hotel was the view of the Nile. I hope you don’t mind sharing your room with the flies
