Casa Colibrí

Don't miss this PERFECT B&B! My husband and I stayed just one night here a few weeks ago, and we actually booked through Airbnb - but we were traveling elsewhere for the next 2 weeks and accidentally missed the window to leave an Airbnb review. So we wanted to make sure to tell Grisell (and everyone) how much we LOVED staying at Casa Colibri! The room and bathroom are lovely and very comfortable - and the view from the bedroom is incredible! It looks over the city, and it was amazing to see that view at different times of day as the light changed. We had to Uber to get to places we wanted to see and to restaurants in the city, but that was no problem at all - it was quick and quite affordable. Don't let that deter you! Most notably, Grisell was the sweetest, kindest host we can imagine. We loved her right away - and we were also smitten with her adorable baby daughter and her cute, friendly cat & dog. (We missed our pets while traveling and so it was especially nice to have a few moments with these very sweet animals.) Grisell was so patient with our attempts to practice/use our limited Spanish, and she was incredibly helpful - even doing a load of our laundry quickly and for free. We were sad that we couldn't stay longer - we had to catch a flight out of Quito in the morning, so we left fairly early (so early that we didn't even ask for breakfast, though I imagine she would have accommodated us). We loved Quito and were especially fond of Grisell and her lovely home - we hope to come back to the city someday, and if we do, we want to stay with her again!
