Location is great because is a lot of nature and sand and beach. However the apartment we were allocated was BASIC.  The small bed for two people is by the door with useless blinds that don´t cover the light coming in at all, the bathroom was small and dark with a shower head that splashed water everywhere,  you could literally have a shower while using the toilet. Only one little pocket size hand soap for two and to sachets small, for shower,  well it was ok for one night.  The tv has mostly german channels and a couple of danish ones,  well...we can live with that. The kitchen had one of the wooden cupboard doors almost falling down and we didn´t try the microwave or the coffee machines (by the way,  the water boiler was dirty!). Dishes and forks were there and glasses.  The walls are so thin you can hear the neighbours as if they were inside! I can not imagine what this place is like in summer.  There were many empty appartments around but they decided to occupy what it seem the only two next to each other.  During the night the older couple next door had some FUN and woke me up with screams,  I thought they were having a hart attack, but I guess they had fun. Honestly,  it is not a place to stay more then 2 days and certainly not up to standards. Will not return to this one.

Low value for money

I tried to get the invoice but it was impossible to get it. The hotel is ok, but as this was a working travel I lost money because my company requires to have an invoice to refung all travel expenses.

Although smiley and friendly greeting at check inn this place was awful! Our room (26) was far too hot and stuffy to sleep comfortably. And even though we turned the heating off, there wasn’t any possibility to switch off the floor heating.
The bed and mattress was old and saggy and tilted to one side. It was also so low that is was hard to get out of bed.
The bathroom was so run down and toiletries was two tiny satchels of combined shower gel/shampoo. Not even enough for one person and no refill or any other room service during our two night stay.
Not to mention the walls that were so thin that you could hear your neighbors fart! I can’t even imagine how unbearable it would be to stay there in the high season!

The food included in the price was also under all critic! The starter was 2 types of preserved fish (Laks/salmon and a white fish) served with salad dressing as opposed to the mustardy dill sauce that normally is served with smoked salmon.
The main coarse, a roast was eatable enough, but the vegetables were straight out of a bag! And the dessert (if that could be classified as a dessert) was a tiny bought pancake with a thin slither of vanilla ice cream in the middle. Worth nothing, literally!
It would be so easy to make the place at least seem more inevitable.
A hot water boiler in the rooms, or maybe even free coffe/tea in the lounge accompanied by a couple of cookies. That’s offered in much nicer places than this and would have done wonders.
Fresh vegetables with the meal. Less is more if the quality is in order.
As a minimum, home made pancakes with a touch of fresh fruit maybe. They’re certainly charging us for it!
Come on!!!
The only good thing about this place is it’s location close to the famous Vesterocean. Nothing else though so we won’t be back at that hotel (not what I would call it). We would rather stay in the town Ribe close by which is the oldest town in Denmark. Quaint and inviting and rooms cheaper than Lakolk! Buts that’s my next review. 

Renovation seriously needed!

Rømø is a wonderful place. We stayed there with our dog. The building itself is a bit tired and 1970s but it is clean and the staff are lovely. The position is perfect, right next to the beach and close to the dog walking areas. The rooms are large, have a small kitchen and clean shower room

Great position

This summer I went to visit the lovely Island Rømø in the South West of Denmark
We stayed at hotel Lakolk. 
The hotel itself is ok, but a bit rundown, but this does not matter as it is right at the lovely Beach Lakolk. When there you will spend most of your time at the Beach or touring this lovely Island.
The staff is very helpful and does their best to make you feel welcome.
You are allowed to bring your dog.
It is possible to stay in a hotelroom or rent a hut also right beside the hotel.
It is defenetly worth another visit
