This is our second stay in Sol Katoro. This time we had one of the superor Apartments with a view of the bay and pool arera. The atmosphere is Nice and calm. The perfect spot for children to have fun and for adults to enjoy themselves. The city of Umag is full of nice restaurants, and though it is 4 km away it is easy to reach with the frequent trains driving all day long.

Definetly worth a visit

Great family resort

We liked the properry very much.It was big enough for 2 grown ups and a dog with nice and quite big balcony to sit on.Neighbourhood was quiet and there was a nice big park in front of the apartment and a sea only 1minute walk from us.Parking place also in front of the apartment and makes carrong luggage very easy and fast.We got many towels for our 2 days. I'd like more kitchen towels there only.

Nice & cosy

We stayed at Katoro Sol Apartments (no. 214) for a week.  We choose this place because we heard that it's suitable for families and it really was. The apartment was clean the staff at the reception and the cleaning ladies were very friendly. Free parking, wi-fi and a shop nearby.  

The only thing that bothered me is the mix of families and teenagers ready to party. On our last day some young Polish arrived who were eager to party. They probably mistook Umag for the party destination Zrce. They acted like crazy the whole night till six in the morning. We were all young once, but too much is too much. We asked them to be quiet ourselves then we called the reception twice. The night watch came right away both times, but nothing helped. 

When a group of young people makes a reservation I think it’s reasonably to assume that things will get a bit lively.  Either you are a family or a party place.

It's ok

I did not want to write review as I requested via email the GM's email address from the front desk but no response so far from them so they gave me no choice...
When we got to the reception after travelling 8 hours  we decided to pay upfront instead of check out. She said a completely different price as we had it been confirmed in december. She was trying to convince me which I would have accepted if there is any additional local tax or something like that on the top. Clearly she couldnt so I wanted to speak to her Duty Manager or someone in charge. Nobody wanted to speak to me and at the end she turn around and started to blame me saying..oh you have changed ur roomtype' I bursted out laughing as I did not touch my reservation since december.So we did not pay a cent more...forget about apology...
as we got to the apartments they mixed them up and not even was prepared for 3 adults. tried to call reception but there was no answer although there were 5 people at reception. Went there personally and requested things to be done and guess what after2 hours I had to phone them again.....
AC and remote control did not work properly,
One morning we needed a doctor and again went to the reception asking for help and this girl knew nothing about the situation..apart from u cannot go to across the road because it is only for residence and marked me place on a map where she didn't know the opening time, phone number....anyway IF YOU NEED A DOCTOR JUST PLEASE GO OPPOSITE TO RECEPTION they are the kindest people in the resort.
and my story still not finished..

The resort itself is nice really good for families if they hired more professional smily people maybe they would do a better job.

Lack of professionalism

Here is summarize of the situation we had during our stay at Umag SOL Kataro:
•	We stayed ther during a Karate training camp in June 2017 and the place was over booked.
•	Dinner the first day was just leftovers, 30 minutes queue just to get in the door, then additional queues at each buffet table, almost nothing left to eat.
•	The following two days the same hopeless situation. Long lines waiting for little leftover food. The food was of bad quality.
•	Conclusion is that the hotel has not the capacity to take in the amount of people that was there during the karate camp.
•	The room was not cleaned and we experienced twice that week we had to call respeption to get new towels. Old towels was not removed from the floor.
•	The garbage was not removed daily and we had to call staff to take the trash away.
Very disapointed with our stay.
