The balcony offers a beautiful view of the island's bay. Very kind, sociable, polite, and attentive hostess. Very clean room with snow-white sheets. We really enjoyed our stay, we will definitely come again. I recommend!

We stayed for 3 nights and it was amazing. The best view u could ever get from your balcony or terrace.
We walked all island around and was beautiful, not that hard to do if u wearing propper shoes 🙂.
This property has no TV, but definitely not needed at all.
Very nice hosts, relaxed views, quietness, good connections with naghoury islands and Dubrovnic.

Stayed at this guest house for 3 nights best decision we could have made

We where met by 2 fantastic hosts who welcomed us with homemade lemonade (lemons from there garden) and a vey welcome ice cold local beer 

Room was large and spacious spotlessly clean with air conditioning and a nice little balcony overlooking the bay 

There’s an excellent little terrace where you can have your own cooked food and can be eaten with the feeling of sitting in a little bistro overlooking the bay 

Overall 5 star stay in Kolocep definitely influenced by the choice of accommodation 

If we ever return this will be the first place we will look before considering any other fully recommend staying at this property

My wife and I stayed for two nights at Guesthouse Oreb. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Branke who helped us with our bags up the hill. When we got to the top, she showed us our room and brought us a pitcher of cold cherry juice, which was amazing. 

Our room was very clean and the air conditioning adequately cooled the room. The kitchen was well stocked with plates and silverware. 

The next morning Branke greeted us with some fresh baked German apple deliciousness, fresh from the oven. Definitely a great way to start the day. 

Kolocep is a quite place to get away from the madness that is Dubrovnik during the summer. Oreb offers a place to do just that. The view from the top of the hill is tranquil and beautiful. We highly recommend a visit to Branke and Guesthouse Oreb. 

It’s quite a few steep steps up the hill to get to the guest house, but it’s worth it!  You are rewarded with wonderful views looking back across the bay to the village.
We were met at the boat by The owner Branke who is friendly and enthusiastic.  A bit of German is useful..
This is a self catering guest house, so remember to stock up before arriving, either from the mainland or from the shop in the village (limited choice and erratic hours)
Facilities are good, rooms have small balconies, air on, shared bathrooms in the corridor.  Branke made us coffee and cherry juice!  Great place would highly recommend.
Feels like a home from home, a real contrast to the Thompson holiday hotel at the bottom of the hill, which is not at all friendly

Second time back here! Such a beautiful little spot hidden up high overlooking a stunning little bay! Really welcoming family who help with absolutely anything you need! Be warned...the steps take some getting used to but it's worth it! The family also meet you at the ferry/carry suitcases up the steps! 

First of all Guest House Oreb - great little place. Rooms clean, bed comfy and lovely view from shared terrace. The owner met us from the ferry which was great as it would have been fairly hard to locate (given its fantastic high up location).

As for the island - generally agree with the majority of comment already on Tripadvisor - it's a really lovely place.  Walking round is the best method, and the dry stone lined walkways linking the two towns make it all the better.  My one big bugbear with the whole place is the revolting Thomson hotel slap bang in the middle of the main village bay - it is so out of keeping with its brash white modern exterior and perfectly aligned sunbeds; sadly it does ruin the rustic look and feel, and I can't believe it was allowed in the first place - like sticking a Wetherspoons in the middle of the Cotswolds....

That said, there are about 5 restaurants on the island - good mix of price range (best one is the fish BBQ one in the other village) - which is great as the 1 shop does not really stock enough to self cater.  There are not any real beaches (apart from the Thomson's one)- so finding somewhere to sunbathe as such is tricky - but that's not untypical of Croatia generally.

Taking the above into account - a great wee destination.

3 days in Kolocep

The guesthouse itself was a bit old and "seen it's best days" but what was lost in the facilities was definitely paid back with the view. The guesthouse was located on a hill (so prepare for many stairs, not the best option with suitcases) and it was also a bit tricky to find, but because of it's location the view was amazing and overlooking the village. Very beautiful! The manager of the guesthouse was nice, however she only spoke few words of English so communication was hard and it was difficult to reach her once I arrived to the resort, since there's no reception etc. However if you speak German you should have no communication issues. Kolocep island itself is very quiet and there's not much activities there.

My flight was delayed, and hence I could not make the last ferry over there at 8pm. I had to forfeit my payment that I made that same morning. Oreb would not let me switch my booking to the following night.
