We stayed 3 nights at Horst's tranquil oasis with ocean views and sound breakfast. Horst was the perfect host, never imposing always available and ready to guide and advise when our plans needed fine tuning. We wished we had stayed longer and are sure to return when we come back. Gorgeous location, peaceful surroundings and lovely host

We spent 5 nights at Rio Cocles and enjoyed the very relaxed time we had there. We stayed in the "family suite" which was very very spacious, with a big sleeping room, two smaller rooms and a real big terrace with couches and hammocks and - again - just plenty of space. 
Everything is set in a nice and well maintained garden that lies directly at a not so busy part of a most beautiful beach. 

The breakfast is rather expensive but I think I had my best coffee in Costa Rica at Horst`s and the  rolls are delicious.

Horst is a very friendly, helpful and funny host. 

Rio Cocles is a great place to explore the area as well. Manzanillo, all the beautiful beaches around, Puerto Viejo or Cahuita Nation Park - nothing is really far. 

I definitively recommend Rio Cocles!

Very peaceful and beautiful place directly at a beach

If you enjoy being in more natural surroundings for a beach holiday this is the place for you. There are no high rises or fancy resorts just the basics and beautiful beaches. Avoid the busy periods and you will love the place

Charming and natural

We didn't have a firm accommodation arragement in Puerto Viejo but heard from a German Couple who happened to travel with us from Bocas Del Toro about Rio Cocles Cabinas. We really enjoyed Yorst, the host, the location (right on the beach). Yorst also offered us some coconuts from the property and thebreakfast was excellent. Bus stop to San Jose is also literally outside the property. The property gardens are very well kept. Highly recommended!

A nice surprise

We were originally planning to stay in Cahuita, but heard about these Cabinas from another german couple and decided to try it out. Horst, the german owner of this location, is very nice and extremely funny guy and we had lots of laughs with him during our 4 nights stay there. Cabinas are clean with small terrace and you can use the common area for drinking beer or any other beverages (there is a fridgem filled with beers and sodas and you just have to write down what you had). Breakfast is also very nice, german bread and fresh fruits are always available and also ham and cheese and other things. Horst also gave us very good tips for restaurants near by.
