I highly recommend CasaDelMango to anyone who wants to experience CostaRica in the Caribbean.  It's peaceful, clean, close to everything and the owners are truly sensational!!!  We had an incredible stay here, making a ton of wonderful memories.

In my opinion, Casa del Mango stands out on several aspects.  A perfect location, close to an awesome beach, within walking distance of several restaurants, small markets/groceries, pharmacies.... All in a very chill and safe environment. 

The casa's grounds are simply enchanting, with a superb swimming pool surrounded by hyper-diverse, typically Costa Rican vegetation, and an outdoor area under a rigid, ventilated awning where you can gather for aperitifs or meals.  And what can we say about the majestic mature mango trees, where we can observe birds and various primates species.

The hosts' welcome is simply perfect.  Very welcoming, courteous... Take advantage of their knowledge of the region, ask them your questions and they'll be more than happy to help you.  They take great care of their beautiful Casa.  They have a lot to be proud of.

And finally, the Casa itself... a magnificent, unique, clean architecture... a real beauty.   The fully-equipped open-air kitchen, the 4 bedrooms with a private bathrooms and balconies, and a rooftop terrace that peeks out over the garden, are just some of the features you'll appreciate.

Be ready for a lot of new memories!!! Casa del Mango will provide you with!!!

We (a group of friends) visited La Casa del Mango and our experience was amazing! Nati and Martin, the hosts, are an amazing couple, very nice, kind and very respectful. They want to make sure your stay is as pleasant and comfortable as possible!
The house is really nice, with a great rooftop and pool! Kitchen is fully equipped; the house has all you need to have a great time!
Totally recommend the place!

Great place, amazing hosts!

We spent 4 days at the Casa del Mango and was the best choice we made.
The house is amazing, the pool, the bedrooms and the two decks on the 4th and 5th floor are something that not all places offer, the view is wonderful. 
The owners are very friendly and polite and they take care of everything if you need. 
The house is near the beach, less than 3 minute walking.
Totally recommended.!!

AMAZING PLACE.!! YOU NEED TO GO THERE.!!

Staying here for three nights was paradise.  Waking up every morning to the ocean breeze and the chirping of all the birds was a beautiful experience and spending time watching the wildlife from the top floor of the house was a lot of fun.  We got to observe several types of toucans and iguanas.  The pool and the gardens were a great getaway from the hot afternoon, and the house was surprinsingly cool.  The rooms were beautiful with the well kept hardwood floors and all the amenities were provided including beach towels.  

The new owners provided great insight on where to eat and what to visit in the small, authentic town of Cahuita.  This was so much less touristy than the other areas visited in Costa Rica. 

La Casa and the area was worth the drive from San Jose

Peaceful paradise

We celebrated my wife’s 70th birthday at Casa del Mango and new owners Martin and Natacha had only arrived the week before. They were wonderful hosts who now live on the grounds and did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. There are incredible wildlife and birds on the property (sloths, monkeys, iguanas, multiple bird species)and the beach is a short walk away.  It is a short pleasant walk to town and there are a number of good restaurants. We had a number of meals catered by the outstanding owners of Aroma Cafe in town and I would highly recommend visiting them to learn about the unique cuisine of this region. If you go in high season be sure and reserve a car in Puerto Viejo (Adobe or Alamo) to explore the many sights in the area.

Great place to stay in this region for a family gathering

La Casa del Mango provided the most amazing setting for our 7 day vacation!  This is the perfect location for local food, easy beach access, and the amenities on property allow for wonderful time at “home”.  The 4 bedrooms accommodated our large group, the giant pool is amazing, and the owners provided phenomenal service and advice.  

The Perfect Getaway

This place is amazing! The service was great and everyone was very nice. Me and my husband want to come back for our honeymoon next month. We could see the ocean and all kinds of animals from the top of their deck, the walk from towns is about 10 minutes and you will see all kinds of animals and beaches and your way. I totally recommend this place!

I loved it!

We stayed here for five days as an extended family including young adult children. There are 4 bedrooms, two with trundle beds. Each has its own bathroom and balcony with hammock. The pool is beautiful and perfectly maintained. The grounds are lush and well kept, and allowed us to watch monkeys and a sloth close up, with Tuscans in the trees. The house itself is stunning, with gorgeous wooden floors, glass walls, and top decks. It does have some typical tropical issues, like limited hot water for showers, a few leaks to the upper large bath when there is heavy rain, and some plumbing issues. But that pales in comparison to just how gorgeous the place is. Perfect to cook and eat meals together or chill by the pool, with space to retreat to the bedroom too. It is one block to black sand beaches, or a reasonable walk to the outstanding white sand beaches of the nearby national park. It is also a quick walk to restaurants and groceries. The staff is great and very helpful. I do have one important piece of advice- if you will fly out from San Jose, leave the day prior to your flight. We allowed 6 hours for the trip back on a minibus rented just for us on the owner’s advice, and we still missed our flights out due to accidents on the road. We were stuck in San Jose till the next day. I suggest instead a more leisurely mid day departure with an overnight at the airport Double Tree by Hilton. It was lovely, close, and well priced. I would highly recommend this property for families of adults or with teens (not as suitable for small children due to stairway, pool, and balconies).

Incredible 

The house was beautiful with breathtaking views on the top terraces. I was skyping the UK as a toucan flew right over my head to perch nearby. We all had a great time with the children looking for the amazing wildlife that visits the garden- the howler monkeys, poison dart frogs and lizards and then welcomed plunging into the deliciously cool  pool. Everyone was very helpful and welcoming and we felt very secure and comfortable at all times.

Fabulous tropical experience

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights at La Casa del Mango during our honeymoon to Costa Rica. It was simultaneously the best and worst place we stayed during our holiday. 

The pool was green and uninviting. The kitchen was completely bare of any essential pantry items, making it impossible to cook a meal that wasn't bland. There were multiple holes in flyscreens, letting numerous bugs in. There was no air conditioner, and so no relief from the heat. It is sightly out of town, and there was virtually no signage to the place, so our driver and a tour operator both couldn't find the place. Also, don't use the taxi driver they recommend.

HOWEVER. There are kitchen and laundry facilities free for use. Free internet (best downstairs). The guards were friendly and helpful, and carried our bags up to the room. We had the entire house to ourselves, which was a bonus. It is easy walking distance to the beach, and a short walk into Cahuita. The house itself, not being a hotel, is authentic and really cool, you can go up on the roof and see the beach. 

The best part? The mango tree in the backyard was home to a sleepy two-toed sloth, which we were able to see from our balcony. The mangoes were also at the prime ripeness for a troop of howler monkeys to be living in the backyard for the entire time we were there. Despite waking us up at 5am, being able to sit and watch them for as long as we wanted was a very, very special treat.
