This place was great, and I loved it. I stayed there for 2 days with my friends and I am happy to say that the service, rooms, and value was great. The food was especially nice with an acceptable price. We stayed at the new room, for stargazing and it was beautiful, although it did take us a few minutes to adjust the position of the telescope. I know this place really well, and I also know the history of this place since 1999. It was never owned by an Italian, but it was owned by the Italian's wife, who is Chinese. And the reason why only a few can speak english is because they rarely need it as most the tourists are from China. 

I strongly recommend families to visit this place, it is great even for families with pets.

Great Place To Stay!

I visited here for a day and I have to say that the location was great. However I understood that the place was run by an Italian family but there was no distinction besides a more often use of English. The English was no were to perfect. The grass lawn was great, something rarely seen in Beijing. The price of food and drinks were on the more expensive side. 10 yuan for a coke! Overall it was okay, but the living quarters were small.

Decent but Small

This "far from Italian" place has poor food, terrible service and there is virtually nobody who speaks english.
The only good thing is the environment, but if you go there bring your own food!
I am italian was going there when it was owned by an italian, at that time it was good. Now it's just terrible and I feel offended that they call it "italian"
