Naqin Geological Ocean Park Hotel

The scenery at this hotel is amazing! The hotel is located approximately three hours outside of Guangzhou and it made for a great weekend getaway. The landscape consists of huge boulders and rocky cliffs surrounding the ocean. The rooms were extremely clean and I was impressed with the resort. The pool is huge and the hotel has a private beach. The beach isn't really for swimming (due to the rocks), but the scenery is spectacular. The resort is in a very quiet area (which is great), so there aren't any restaurants or activities within walking distance. My room was great. Large size, clean, and nice decoration. However, I was puzzled as to why my balcony door was bolted shut and why all of the plate glass windows were covered with a frosted film. The scenery outside was amazing, so I really couldn't imagine why they covered all of my windows so that it was impossible to see anything outside of my room. After some investigation, I found out that there is a grave located near to my room. Since the Chinese culture is extremely superstitious, the hotel felt it was necessary to block everyone's view to the grave. This the first time that I have stayed in a beautiful hotel room that had only frosted windows, but hey, this is China and there's always some mystery to explore. Don't stay in building 11 if you want to be able to see out of the windows.
